Service users' views on service production are nowadays considered essential. However, not much is known about these evaluative processes in the treatment of substance abuse. This study includes two experiments and a qualitative analysis of therapists' (N=4) written responses to client situations which were used as basic materia! in the experiments. The first experiment focused on the therapists' ability to feel empathy, their genuineness, their respect for the client and their concreteness. This dissertation examines the impact that the materiality of institutions has on patients and staff. Fieldwork has been carried out at five district psychiatric centres (Distriktspsykiatriske sentra, DPS) that were originally built as tuberculosis institutions. The patients’ and employees’ experiences of being present in the physical and social space of these institutions has been examined, interpreted and reflected upon. The paper provides knowledge about the significance institutions’ materiality and inner life has on the informants, and how the informants influence the materiality. Suomen kouluissa on enenevässä määrin oppilaita erityisopetuksen piirissä. Tukea saadaan yleisenä, tehostettuna tai erityisenä tukena. Yhtenä syynä erityisopetukselle on tunne-elämän häiriö tai sosiaalinen sopeutumattomuus. Tällaisten oppilaiden on vaikeaa tulla toimeen toisten kanssa ja he joutuvat usein konflikteihin vuorovaikutustilanteissa. He eivät osaa tunnistaa eivätkä säädellä omia tunteitaan niin hyvin kuin muut ikätoverit. Valoración clínica del estado dental y periodontal en un grupo de pacientes oncológicos, previo inicio de la quimioterapia

Objetivos: Valorar el estado bucodental en 88 pacientes con cánceres corporales, previo al inicio de su tratamiento quimioterápico. Diseño del estudio: Estudiamos 88 pacientes con cánceres de diferentes localizaciones corporales y los comparamos con un grupo control. Analizamos la placa dental (mediante el índice de Silness y Löe), el estado dental (mediante el índice CAO.D) y el estado periodontal (índice CPI modificado). Resultados: En el grupo de pacientes oncológicos, la media del índice de placa de Silnness y Löe fue de 1,28±0,11.
