Ankle oedema and abdominal swelling suddenly developed in a 55-year-old woman who also had lymphadenopathy in the neck, axillae and groin. Ultrasonography demonstrated hepatosplenomegaly, ascites and pleural effusions. Histological examination of some lymph-nodes from the axilla and groin revealed angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy (low-malignant peripheral T cell lymphoma). Bone-marrow biopsy was undertaken because of a normocytic anaemia (haemoglobin 4.9 g/dl) requiring blood transfusion, thrombocytopenia (5000/microliters) and monoclonal IgG gammopathy. Computed tomography is generally considered to be the most reliable and, indeed, the definitive diagnostic technique for demonstration of brain tumors. Approximately 98% of intracra-nial lesions are detected with CT. However, extremely high sensitivity is not the only advantage of CT in diagnosis of intracranial tumors. Oral squamous cell carcinoma mimicking osteonecrosis of the jaw: a case report

Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) is a well-known adverse drug reaction to bisphosphonate (BP) treatment. ONJ diagnosis is usually based on the patient’s medical/medication histories and on the clinical/radiological features of necrotic bone (frequently exposed). Furthermore, in case of mandibular involvement, patients may present pain and/or hypesthesia of the inferior alveolar nerve. Pre-operative diclofenac HPβCD for pain control of needle biopsy in musculoskeletal neoplasm: preliminary results.

Needle biopsy is the main standard method used for diagnosis of musculoskeletal tumors of the limbs and superficial trunk. Pain control during this procedure is through the use of Local Anaestetic (L.A.).
