In this article, we discuss the premise of assessing oral language skills with the help of automatic speech recognition. We present the main goals and working methods in DigiTala project (2019–2023) – a research project between University of Helsinki, Aalto University and University of Jyväskylä that aims at developing a digital tool for assessing and practicing oral language skills. In the title compound, C20H11F2N5O, the central 13-membered ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.028 Å) makes a dihedral angle of 53.13 (7)° with the difluorophenyl ring and 79.98 (7)° with the pyridine ring. The crystal packing features aromatic π–π interactions between the 13-membered rings [shortest distance between ring centroids = 3.5682 (8) Å].

The Depression Scale (DEPS) is a patient-reported outcome instrument developed to recognize depressive symptoms. This study measured the psychometric properties of the DEPS among patients with degenerative spinal disease. Altogether 637 patients were included in the analysis. Main research question was whether the DEPS would meet pertinent psychometric criteria for reliability and validity. The results of analyses supported the DEPS instrument as a reliable and valid test to measure depressive symptoms among adult patients with spinal disease fulfilling the psychometric criteria. nonPeerReviewed

The hypothetico-deductive (H-D) method is reported to be common in information systems (IS). In IS, the H-D method is often presented as a Popperian, Hempelian, or natural science method. However, there are many fundamental differences between what Popper or Hempel actually say and what the alleged H-D method per Hempel or per Popper means in IS. Pārmaiņu vadība Ventspils vispārizglītojošajās izglītības iestādēs projekta “Skola 2030” ieviešanas kontekstā

Pielāgojoties aktuālajiem izaicinājumiem, izglītības sistēmas mērķi mainās, kā rezultātā mainās arī mācību pieejas. 2016. gadā Latvijā uzsākta pāreja uz kompetencē balstītu mācību pieeju, kas paredz vienota mācību standarta izstrādi un starpdisciplināru caurviju prasmju padziļinātu apguvi. Šī maģistra darba mērķis ir novērtēt, ko Ventspils vispārizglītojošo skolu vadītāji ir darījuši, ieviešot pārmaiņas, un kā šīs pārmaiņu vadības metodes vērtē pedagogi.
