Problemas adolescentes en Iberoamérica
2002
Data gathered in an Iberoamerican descriptive-comparative study on adolescent students are reported. Samples include subjects living in three different Argentine urban regions (Buenos Aires, Tucuman and Patagonia) and in the city of Valencia (Spain). For psychological assessment the Symptom Checklist (SCL – 90 – R), a sociodemographic survey including an open question on the most important emotional problem experienced during last year and a coping scale, in their Spanish versions, were used. We present data on reported problems, analyzed by sex, age and region, pointing out main differences found.
Cognitive avoidance, positive affect, and gender as predictors of the processing of aversive information
2008
Abstract The study investigated the influence of cognitive avoidance, positive affect, and gender on the evaluation of and memory for threat-related information varying in degrees of aversiveness and ambiguity. Stimulus material consisted of threatening, nonthreatening, and ambiguous pictures. First, valence ratings of the stimuli were collected. This phase was followed by a first memory test. A second memory test was administered three days later. Memory for aversive information was influenced by cognitive avoidance, positive affect, and gender. Avoiders exhibited a comparatively good memory for aversive information in the first (immediate) test and a very poor memory in the delayed testin…
Enjoying expression: Exploring the benefits of music therapy on patients diagnosed with schizophrenia and using metaphor games/improvisations for inc…
2017
Although music therapy is an evidence-based and effective therapy method in clinical psychiatric settings all around the world, the literature on music therapy's effect specifically on emotional awareness is very limited. This study, which has been conducted as a part of presenter's music therapy master's thesis aims to examine the clinical benefits of music therapy in a Turkish university hospital, to enable further research and promote the recognition of music therapy as a valid clinical method in psychiatry in this country. A study was conducted in Istanbul university psychiatry clinic with 6 patients currently under standard care due to diagnoses of schizophrenia or schizophrenia-like d…
Das Inventar „State-Trait-Operations-Angst” (STOA): Konstruktion und empirische Befunde
2005
This article reports on the construction and empirical evaluation of an instrument for the measurement of surgery-related state and trait anxiety. The inventory "State-Trait Operation Anxiety" (STOA) separately assesses surgery-related anxiety as a comparatively stable personality trait as well as the cognitive and affective components of state anxiety. Results of explorative and confirmatory factor analyses corroborated the unifactorial structure of trait anxiety and the two-factorial structure of state anxiety. Internal consistencies of all scales were highly satisfactory (Cronbach's alpha around 0.90). External relationships of the STOA with trait anxiety, dispositional and actual coping…
Depression bei Kindern und Jugendlichen: Prävalenz, Diagnostik, ätiologische Faktoren, Geschlechtsunterschiede, therapeutische Ansätze
2007
Schlüsselwörter Prävalenzraten - Komorbidität - Stress - Coping - Körperkonzept - Bindung Prevalence rates of th…
Mutation Analysis of Core Binding Factor A1 in Patients with Cleidocranial Dysplasia
1999
SummaryCleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is a dominantly inherited disorder characterized by patent fontanelles, wide cranial sutures, hypoplasia of clavicles, short stature, supernumerary teeth, and other skeletal anomalies. We recently demonstrated that mutations in the transcription factor CBFA1, on chromosome 6p21, are associated with CCD. We have now analyzed the CBFA1 gene in 42 unrelated patients with CCD. In 18 patients, mutations were detected in the coding region of the CBFA1 gene, including 8 frameshift, 2 nonsense, and 9 missense mutations, as well as 2 novel polymorphisms. A cluster of missense mutations at arginine 225 (R225) identifies this residue as crucial for CBFA1 function. …
Familial hypercholesterolæmia in children and adolescents: Gaining decades of life by optimizing detection and treatment
2015
Contains fulltext : 155263.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access) Familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH) is a common genetic cause of premature coronary heart disease (CHD). Globally, one baby is born with FH every minute. If diagnosed and treated early in childhood, individuals with FH can have normal life expectancy. This consensus paper aims to improve awareness of the need for early detection and management of FH children. Familial hypercholesterolaemia is diagnosed either on phenotypic criteria, i.e. an elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) level plus a family history of elevated LDL-C, premature coronary artery disease and/or genetic diagnosis, or positive genetic testin…
The energy dependence of Zweig-rule-violating couplings. A dynamical calculation of ϕ → ρπ
1978
It has been argued that the violation of the Zweig rule is strongly dependent on the kinematical region, especially that it should decrease for large timeliket (asymptotic planarity). We have calculated thet-dependence of the vertex ϕρπ with two different methods, the first one using partial-wave dispersion relations and unitarity and the second one based on FESR and duality. The decrease in the timelike region is confirmed by both calculations. In the spacelike region the energy dependence of the Zweig-rule-violating coupling depends on the method of continuation to off-shell values. We only find an energy dependence if the full amplitude πρ → K $$\bar K$$ is taken into account.
Fatigue Crack Growth for Different Ratios of Bending to Torsion in AlCu4Mg1
2008
The paper contains the fatigue crack growth test results obtained under proportional bending with torsion in AlCu4Mg1 aluminium alloy [1]. Specimens with rectangular cross sections and dimensions: length l = 90 mm, height w = 10 mm and thickness g = 8 mm were tested [2]. Each specimen had an external unilateral notch with depth 2 mm and radius ρ = 0.2 mm. The tests were performed under the stress ratio R = −1. The notches in the specimens were cut with a milling cutter and their surfaces were polished after grinding. The tests were realized on a fatigue test stand MZGS-100 where the ratio of torsion moment to bending moment was \( M_T (t)/M_B (t) = tg\alpha = \sqrt 3 /3,1{\text{ }}and\sqrt …
Construction, assembly and tests of the ATLAS electromagnetic barrel calorimeter
2006
The construction and assembly of the two half barrels of the ATLAS central electromagnetic calorimeter and their insertion into the barrel cryostat are described. The results of the qualification tests of the calorimeter before installation in the LHC ATLAS pit are given.
