The article analyzes data on US and EU behavior at the UN and does not confirm the deep estrangement between the US and the UN nor the real possibility of a EU support to a multilateral order in opposition to the US that has been highlighted by some IR scholars. The article claims that the EU does not challenge the metanorms at the basis of the UN. On the contrary, the EU supports the current (US-based) constitutional order and tends to improve its output legitimacy in consideration of changes in the security agenda. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt Latvijas un Igaunijas politisko attiecību veidošanās procesu mijiedarbībā ar Baltijas reģiona ģeopolitisko kontekstu laika posmā no 1919. līdz 1925. gadam. Darba ietvaros tika analizētas Latvijas un Igaunijas politiskās attiecības kā Baltijas reģiona ģeopolitikas procesu sastāvdaļa, pastiprinātu uzmanību pievēršot multilaterālās sadarbības idejas attīstībai laika posmā no 1919. līdz 1925. gadam. Darba rezultātā tika identificēti Latvijas un Igaunijas bilaterālo attiecību veidošanās pamatprincipi, kā arī analizēta to ietekme un mijiedarbība ar plašākā reģiona ģeopolitiskajām norisēm.

The influence of the decompressive operation on the intracranial pressure and the pressure-volume relation in patients with severe head injuries.

Measurements of intracranial pressure by ventricular catheter were performed in 47 patients with severe head injuries. Thirty-three patients with decompressive operations such as osteoclastic craniotomy and dilatation by means of duraplastic have been compared with 14 patients with closed heads with regard to volume pressure response (intracranial elasticity). This was determined either by intraventricular injection of 2 ml saline or by drainage of cerebrospinal fluid. Introduction: In this chapter, I will summarize the literature on how music and altered states of consciousness (ASC) are connected. Essential aspects include induction and expression of emotions and rhythmic body movements to music and how an altered experience of music is connected to states of altered temporality. Winkelman (2000) stressed the human capacity for experiencing ASC as a fundamental biological function. Detection and quantification of engineered nanomaterials in environmental systems require precise knowledge of the elemental composition, association, and ratios in homologous natural nanomaterials (NNMs).
