TIIVISTELMÄ Henriksson Mari-Anne. 2017. Oppilaiden kokemuksia melusta. Kasvatustieteen pro gradu - tutkielma. Jyväskylän yliopisto. Opettajankoulutuslaitos. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin, millaisia kokemuksia oppilailla on melua tuottavista asioista koululla sekä miten häiritsevää melua voitaisiin heidän mielestään vähentää. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin Webrobol-kyselyllä (n=169). Aineisto kerättiin vuoden 2017 alussa kahdessa kaupungissa, joista pienemmästä kaupungista tutkimukseen osallistuivat kaikkien koulujen ja isommasta yhden yhtenäiskoulun 3. ja 6. luokat. Kuntien omistamien peruskoulujen tilankäytön toteutumattomat skaalaedut

Julkisen koulurakentamisen vallitseva trendi on tehdä suuria, satojen oppilaiden yhtenäiskouluja. Tavoitteena on tuottaa oppimista tukevia tiloja ja mahdollistaa oppilaille eheä oppipolku koko peruskoulun ajaksi. Keskustelussa esiintyy usein myös olettamia suurempien yksiköiden teknistaloudellisista skaalaeduista. Tässä tutkimuksessa analysoitiin yli 350 peruskouluyksikön otoksella, liittykö koulukoon kasvattamiseen skaalaetuja tilankäytön näkökulmasta. Tutkimuksen tulokset kyseenalaistavat käsityksen, että suurten koulujen oppilaskohtaiset tilakustannukset olisivat pääsääntöisesti pieniä kouluja edullisempia. peerReviewed

Connecting the Language Classroom and the Wild : Re-enactments of Language Use Experiences

AbstractUsing multimodal conversation analysis, this article analyses language learning as an in situ process during a teacher-assigned, experientially based pedagogical activity. The activity involved a three-part pedagogical structure, where learners first prepared for and then participated in real-life service encounters, and later reflected on their experiences back in the classroom. The analysis details how the co-constructed telling sequences through which novice second language users re-enact their experiences create an occasion for language-focused activity. Energy efficient model for biogas production in farm scale

Energy efficient solutions for six farm biogas production was found by calculating mass and energy balance in different scenarios. Raw materials in biogas production were cow manure and grass silage that were produced in these farms. There were calculated mass and energy balances on average for one year biogas prouduction that consisted of grass silage production, raw material transportation and biogas production in the biogas plant. In addition, direct greenhouse gases from biogas production were estimated. The direct mass and energy flows were calculated. Advances in ventilatory treatment for OSAS

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is the most widely used treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and was established four decades ago. An alternative option is to use bilevel ventilation, in order to improve compliance to treatment especially in patients who need a high therapeutic pressure to prevent nocturnal respiratory events. Automatic CPAP or bilevel ventilation are also established among OSA therapeutic choices, and are generally indicated in cases of highly variable therapeutic pressure.
