Resumen: El adecuado tratamiento de la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (DM2) incluye la alimentación saludable y el ejercicio (150 min/semana) como pilares básicos. Para el tratamiento farmacológico, la metformina es el fármaco de elección inicial, salvo contraindicación o intolerancia; en caso de mal control, se dispone de 8 familias terapéuticas (6 orales y 2 inyectables) como posibles combinaciones. Influence of hormonal treatment on the response of the rat isolated uterus to histamine and histamine receptor agonists.

The response of the isolated uterus to histamine and histamine agonists was investigated in progesterone- and oestrogen-treated rats. The uterine inhibitory responses to histamine and 4-methylhistamine (a histamine H2 receptor agonist) were similar in KCl-contracted uteri from progesterone- and oestrogen-treated rats. The histamine H1 receptor agonist, 2-pyridyl-ethylamine, produced a relaxant response only in progesterone dominant uterus. This was inhibited by the histamine H1 receptor antagonist. In the rat isolated uterus which was not preconstricted by KCl, neither histamine, 4-methylhistamine, nor 2-pyridyl-ethylamine produced any effect in the presence or absence of ranitidine. Raniti…

The saltwater culture of a Penicillium chrysogenum strain isolated from the Mediterranean sponge Ircinia fasciculata yielded three new sorbicillin-derived compounds (1-3), whose structures were elucidated mainly by 2D NMR and mass spectrometry. Among them, sorbicillactones A (1) and B (2) are the first sorbicillinoid natural products that contain nitrogen. Compound 1 is anti-HIV active and it exhibits a strong cytotoxic activity against L5178y leukemic cells, combined with a relatively low toxicity to cervical carcinoma HeLa S3 cells and pheochromocytoma PC 12 cells. Improving Interpolants for Linear Arithmetic

Craig interpolation for satisfiability modulo theory formulas have come more into focus for applications of formal verification. In this paper we, introduce a method to reduce the size of linear constraints used in the description of already computed interpolant in the theory of linear arithmetic with respect to the number of linear constraints. We successfully improve interpolants by combining satisfiability modulo theory and linear programming in a local search heuristic. Our experimental results suggest a lower running time and a larger reduction compared to other methods from the literature.

Motivic Pattern Extraction in Symbolic Domain

This chapter offers an overview of computational research in motivic pattern extraction. The central questions underlying the topic, concerning the formalization of the motivic structures, the matching strategies and the filtering of the results, have been addressed in various ways. A detailed analysis of these problems leads to the proposal of a new methodology, which will be developed throughout the study. One main conclusion of this review is that the problems cannot be tackled using purely mathematic or geometric heuristics or classical engineering tools, but require also a detailed understanding of the multiple constraints derived by the underlying cognitive context.

International audience; This article reviews the properties of Tensorial Bernstein Basis (TBB) and its usage, with interval analysis, for solving systems of nonlinear, univariate or multivariate equations resulting from geometric constraints. TBB are routinely used in computerized geometry for geometric modelling in CAD-CAM, or in computer graphics. They provide sharp enclosures of polynomials and their derivatives.
