Importante risulta pure …
Using Corpus Linguistics as a research and training tool for Public Service Interpreting (PSI) in the legal sector
2017
Public Service Translation has for long been the ‘forgotten voice’ in PSI studies but it is arguably a valuable linguistic support for legal institutions and for training interpreters in the legal sector. Given that interpreters in the legal system in Italy often tend to ‘double-up’ as legal translators (to make a living) the line between the two is often hazy. Hybrid modalities like sight translation of legal and administrative documents is also a ‘borderline’ feature of these intertwined professions. The main aim of this paper is to describe how parallel and monolingual corpora can be used to train public service interpreters in double roles (translators, interpreters), namely by using co…

2019
Masteroppgave helse- og sosialinformatikk HSI500 - Universitetet i Agder 2019 BackgroundAs part of the digitalisation of health Norway, a newdigital system is introduced for the documentation of clinical protocolsand medication throughout the Helse Sør-ØstRHF. The system MetaVision replaces today's paper solutions and a few cases of other electronic systems on all health establishments. In that context, there are thousands of employees who needs to be trained. While large sums of money are being used on clinical-ICT in health care, there is little evidence of what works and what doesn't work when it comes to training. The purpose of the project is to look at this. The following issue is the…
Coach-athlete perceived congruence between actual and desired emotions in karate competition and training
2017
Coaches can help athletes regulate emotions but would benefit from tools that help them accurately perceive athletes' emotions. In the present study, we investigated the use of video-recorded performances to compare 3 martial artists' ratings of desired and actual emotions with their coach's ratings. Results show how desired emotions progressively fluctuated throughout competition. Furthermore, desired and actual emotions differed between training and performance contexts. Finally, we report correlations between performance and perceived congruence in desired and actual emotions. Cumulatively, results offer support for the video-assisted recall of emotions as an intervention tool in develop…
No effects of low-intensity endurance exercise on muscle necrosis in the diaphragm of mdx mice
2014
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is characterized by progressive skeletal muscle weakness. We have previously shown that low-intensity endurance training prevented muscle damage (Frinchi et al, Int J Sports Med 2014). Since the effects of low-intensity endurance training on the the diaphragm in the mdx mouse model are unknown, in the same animals we investigated Cx39 protein levels (Western blotting) in homogenates of the diaphragm before and after training. Mdx and wild-type (WT) mice were randomly assigned to sedentary (mdx-S, n=17; WT-S, n=19) or trained (mdx-EX, n=14; WT-EX, n=16) groups. Low-intensity endurance training (running on a wheel) was done 5 days/week for 6 weeks at progress…
Orientamento e inclusione: uno studio di caso nelle scuole secondarie palermitane di primo grado
2017
This paper presents the main results of the research work that promoted the design and implementation of training and guidance played in the territory of Palermo during the school years 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 in three secondary schools, with operating procedures, capable of promoting inclusive paths, based on the involvement of students, teachers and parents. The assumption from which we started is that the problems of dispersion and social marginalization can be addressed not only through direct guidance interventions with young people at risk, but also involving adults of reference because we are convinced that this will have, even at a distance of time a significant impact on students. …
