Similarity in self-enhancement and self-transcendence values between young adults and their parents and friends

This study investigates similarities between the 'self-enhancement' and 'self-transcendence' values of young adults and the corresponding values of their parents and friends, examining both mean level and correlational similarities. Participants included 193 Italian young adults along with their parents and friends (one male and one female) who each reported on their own self-enhancement and self-transcendence values. Results showed that young adults were more similar to their friends than to their parents on mean levels of values. This article analyzes Dietrich von Hildebrand’s criticism of amoral sex education, which he regards as misleading and anti-educational in many crucial respects. Its content is misleading, because it separates human sexuality from its inherent connection with married love and thereby fails to do justice to the personal and intimate nature of sexuality. The article is an attempt to describe the poet’s vision of human destiny, history and transcendence. Analysing poems from two poetry volumes I endeavour to present Busza’s philosophy. The poet notes and appreciates science and scientifi c achievements as well as civilisational development, although he realises that they may be dangerous for human spirituality and potentially lead to catastrophe.

Almodóvar's Los abrazos rotos explores the possibilities of cinema to represent the holy contents of the myth. According to two modes of its expression (reflection and the unseen), we can see the implementation of a blunt myth. The myth is attenuated in its produced or spectacular content, with a focus on the symbol and on minesis. The myth reveals but it does not exhibit itself. It seems that the transcendent could be represented using the irony of those who proves the innuendo. The myth is given through the blindness which denies mimesis and shows its more peculiar contents in a blunted way.

Maģistra darba mērķis bija noskaidrot laika uztveri vecumdienās un tās saistību ar apmierinātību ar dzīvi, attiecībām un sociālām aktivitātēm. Pētījumā piedalījās 123 respondenti vecumā no 65 līdz 92 gadiem (16 vīrieši), aizpildot aptaujas par Līdzsvarotu laika perspektīvu, Kosmisko transcendenci, Dzīves jēgas izpratni, Sociālo atbalstu, Apmierinātību ar dzīvi un Attiecībām. Pētījums apstiprināja pieņēmumu, ka vecumdienās pagātnes laika perspektīvas nozīmīgums pieaug, bet nākotnes loma sarūk.
