Persentase Tutupan Terumbu Karang di Perairan Pasir Putih Kabupaten Manokwari

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober sampai November 2014 di perairan Pasir Putih Kabupaten Manokwari, berlokasi di Pantai Air Salobar. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui persentase tutupan terumbu karang, kualitas fisik-kimia air dan korelasi kualitas fisik-kimia air terhadap persentase tutupan terumbu karang di bagian barat daya perairan Pasir Putih, Manokwari. Metode yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data persentase tutupan karang adalah Point Intercept Transect (PIT) pada kedalaman 3 m (Transek I), 7 m (Transek II) dan 10 m (Transek III). Abstract Volatile metal(loid)s are known to be emitted from volcanoes worldwide. We tested the suitability of active moss monitoring for tracking volatile metal(loid)s released from the fumarolic field on Vulcano Island, Italy, and differentiated fumaroles from other sources of gaseous and particulate trace elements such as sea spray and soil. Metal(loid) accumulation on the mosses per day did depend neither on the state of the exposed moss (dead or living) nor exposure time (3, 6, or 9 weeks). A review on trial erosion shows that soil erosion rates are one to three orders of magnitude higher than the ones recommended as sustainable. This is threatening the sustainable managements of mountain terrains, mainly in the popular hiking paths. The warm temperatures characterize Eastern Spain in winter, which results in visitors from northern Europe to walk in the coastal land mountainous terrain. This increases the pressure to the currently highly visited most popular paths. Imidazolium-2-carboxylate as an afficient, expeditious and eco-friendly organocatalyst for glycerol carbonate synthesis

An improved and greener approach towards the synthesis of glycerol carbonate, via transesterification, using 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium-2-carboxylate as catalyst is described. The catalyst loading as low as 1% was sufficient to yield quantitative conversions. A plausible mechanism is proposed for the catalytic cycle leading to product formation.

The impact of a disused mine on uranium transport in the River Fal, South West England.

Unfiltered and filtered (0.45 and 0.2 microm) water samples and sediment samples (sieved to180 microm and 180-1000 microm) were collected along an approximately 15 km transect of the River Fal, Cornwall, UK, to examine the impact of the disused South Terras uranium mine on the uranium concentrations of the river water and underlying sediments. The uranium concentration of the water samples fluctuated along the river, with the 0.45 microm filtered water showing the largest, seven-fold, difference between minimum (0.19 microg L(-1)) and maximum (1.34 microg L(-1)) concentrations. Effect of different co-solvents on biodiesel production from various low-cost feedstocks using Sr–Al double oxides

The main objective of the present paper comprises the investigation of biodiesel production from low-cost feedstock such as lard oil and waste cooking oil (WCO) using Sr-Al double oxides. Nanocatalyst was characterised FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM, BET and XPS. The Sr:Al with 3:1 molar ratio showed the best catalytic activity in the conversion of both oils to fatty acid methyl ester. The effect of acetone and tetrahydrofuran (THF) as a co-solvent for transesterification were compared and the best result was obtained with 5 % THF. Maģistra darbā aplūkota varbūtību blīvuma funkcijas un neparametriskās regresijas funkcijas novērtēšana ar kodolu gludināšanas un empīriskās ticamības funkcijas metodēm. Darbā tika veikta simulāciju izpēte, kas parāda, ka empīriskās ticamības funkcijas metode labi darbojas blīvuma funkcijas un regresijas funkcijas novērtēšanā un dod labus rezultātus pārklājuma precizitātei. Darba gaitā tika paradītī praktiski lietojumi bioloģisko populāciju skaita un blīvuma novērtēšanā un bioloģisko datu regresijas analīzē.
