This critical sociolinguistic study explores how mining work is governed in the name of security in a mine in Arctic Finland. Although the mining industry is dominated by multinational corporations, mines themselves tend to be concentrated in peripheries where a mobile and multilingual workforce is recruited. Trait emotional intelligence, self-reported affect, and salivary alpha-amylase on working days and a non-working day

his study examined the relationship between trait emotional intelligence (EI) and variation in psychological (positive affect: PA, negative affect: NA) and psychophysiological (salivary alpha-amylase: sAA) indicators among Japanese employees over 3 consecutive days (working day 1, non-working day, working day 2). The analyses revealed that higher trait EI was associated across the days with higher PA, but not with NA. Työntekijöiden sitoutuminen ja sen merkitys organisaation menestykselle on noussut kiinnostuksenkohteeksi niin käytännössä kuin akateemisen tutkimuksen piirissä. Tutkimuksen tehtävä on selvittää sosiaalihuollon työikäisten palveluissa työskentelevien sosiaalityöntekijöiden kokemuksia hyvästä asiakassuhteesta. Sosiaalityöntekijän ja asiakkaan välille muodostuu asiakassuhde ja tutkimuksen keskiössä on hyvään asiakassuhteeseen liittyvät elementit. Asiakassuhdetta tutkittaessa täytyy huomioida konteksti missä toimitaan. Toimintaympäristö ja sosiaalityöntekijän rooli ovat merkittävässä vaikutuksessa siihen, millainen asiakassuhteesta lopulta muodostuu. Tarkasteltavana on myös sosiaalihuoltolain (1301/2014) 42§:n omatyöntekijyyden vaikutus asiakassuhteeseen.
