La mise en image du « problème des banlieues » au prisme de la division du travail journalistique

2008

Our article aims to reconstitute the image- and speech-making process regarding the “suburbs” through the filming of a documentary on “how young people on the high-rise estates perceive the war in Iraq”. We followed the post-shooting process and the comments and remarks made during the editing for national TV in March 2003. The reconstitution of the different phases of production (especially the impact of how the work involved was split up between those in editorial positions and the journalists “allotted” to the suburbs) reveals a mode whereby successive forms of categorisation are applied to the young people interviewed and what they say, so as to embody a so-called “point of view from th…

Poziom akceptacji wartości witalnych i estetycznych a stereotypowe myślenie o starszych pracownikach studentów kierunków Ekonomia i Zarządzanie

2019

A growing number of old employees should be employed in future organisations, particularly in highly developed countries, and because of at least two reasons. First, the populations of many countries are aging. Second, the time of remaining active on the labour market is prolonging. The barriers for older workers on this market include age stereotypes regarding such workers. Therefore, it is important to know individual characteristics that are associated with stereotyped thinking about older workers. This paper presents the results of the research related to the relations between such thinking and two personal values. The results of the statistical analysis indicate that persons with low a…

Endotyping allergic rhinitis in children: A machine learning approach.

2021

Introduction: The diversity of allergic rhinitis (AR) phenotypes is particularly evident in childhood, suggesting the need to analyze and identify new approaches to capture such clinical heterogeneity. Nasal cytology (NC) is a very useful diagnostic tool for identifying and quantifying nasal inflammation. Data-driven approaches such as latent class analysis (LCA) assign subjects to classes based on their characteristics. We hypothesized that LCA based on NC, including the assessment of neutrophils, eosinophils, and mast cells, may be helpful for identifying AR endotypes in children. Methods: A total of 168 children were enrolled. Sociodemographic characteristics and detailed medical history…

Positioning the principles of precision medicine in care pathways for allergic rhinitis and chronic rhinosinusitis – A EUFOREA-ARIA-EPOS-AIRWAYS IC…

2017

Precision medicine (PM) is increasingly recognized as the way forward for optimizing patient care. Introduced in the field of oncology, it is now considered of major interest in other medical domains like allergy and chronic airway diseases, which face an urgent need to improve the level of disease control, enhance patient satisfaction and increase effectiveness of preventive interventions. The combination of personalized care, prediction of treatment success, prevention of disease and patient participation in the elaboration of the treatment plan is expected to substantially improve the therapeutic approach for individuals suffering from chronic disabling conditions. Given the emerging dat…

Studies concerning the production of volatile oil, rhizomes and roots, to different genotypes of Valeriana officinalis L.

2010

Valeriana officinalis L. is considered to pertain to European species, with great ecologic plasticity, which allows its adaptation to climate conditions characteristics to plain areas and also to mountain areas up to an altitude of 2400 meters. The species is a well-known curative plant, with a long history and multiple uses. Essential oils deriving from this species revealed the interest of researchers in food industry, cosmetics and officinal industry, furthermore being used as additives too.The raw material from which essential oils are being extracted is represented mainly by rhizomes and roots. This study has the purpose to emphasize the differences of essential oils production registe…

Gamifying Teacher Students’ Learning Platform

2020

This paper presents initial results from a study exploring teacher students’ experiences related to the gamification of an online learning platform in higher education. The aim was to get an understanding of the participants’ views regarding the use of game elements and to examine the user type profile of this group in order to explore the potential of applying user types in planning gamification solutions for teacher students. The participants’ overall experience of having game elements as part of their course platform was principally positive. User types students presented were investigated using the Hexad scale adapted from game design: in this user group, Socialiser and Philanthropist w…

Fungal root endophyte associations of plants endemic to the Pamir Alay Mountains of Central Asia.

2011

The fungal root endophyte associations of 16 species from 12 families of plants endemic to the Pamir Alay Mountains of Central Asia are presented. The plants and soil samples were collected in Zeravshan and Hissar ranges within the central Pamir Alay mountain system. Colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) was found in 15 plant species; in 8 species it was of the Arum type and in 4 of the Paris type, while 3 taxa revealed intermediate arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM) morphology. AMF colonization was found to be absent only in Matthiola integrifolia, the representative of the Brassicaceae family. The AM status and morphology are reported for the first time for all the species analyzed a…

An Intralingual Parallel Corpus of Translations into German Easy Language (Geasy Corpus): What Sentence Alignments Can Tell Us About Translation Stra…

2021

Parallel corpora are traditionally interlingual and contain source and target texts in different languages. However, intralingual translations into Easy Language (EL) become more and more common in various countries. First intralingual corpora have been built up and investigated in terms of linguistic and structural features, but a translation-driven corpus linguistic approach is still missing to empirically describe the strategies of Easy Language translation, the characteristics of translated texts as well as to make these parallel corpora usable for professionalising and automatising translation processes. In this paper, we introduce an intralingual parallel corpus of translations into G…
