Reliability and validity of the Finnish version of the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS)

2017

The present study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the Finnish version of the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS) among foot and ankle patients. The LEFS was translated and cross-culturally adapted to Finnish. We assessed the test-retest reliability, internal consistency, floor-ceiling effect, construct validity and criterion validity in patients who underwent surgery due to musculoskeletal pathology of the foot and ankle (N = 166).The test-retest reliability was high (ICC = 0.93, 95% CI: 0.91-0.95). The standard error of measurement was 4.1 points. The Finnish LEFS showed high internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.96). A slight ceiling effect occurred as 17% achieved the …

Efficacy and safety of glecaprevir/pibrentasvir in renally impaired patients with chronic HCV infection

2019

Background and aims Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection increases the risk of incident chronic kidney disease (CKD) and progression to end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Previously available direct-acting antiviral regimens are not approved for patients with advanced CKD across all HCV genotypes. Methods EXPEDITION-5 is a phase 3 study to evaluate efficacy and safety of the fixed-dose combination of glecaprevir and pibrentasvir (G/P) for chronic HCV infection (genotype 1 through 6) in adults without cirrhosis or with compensated cirrhosis and with stage 3b, 4 or 5 CKD. Patients received approved duration of G/P according to HCV genotype, cirrhosis status and prior HCV treatment experienc…

Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire (TEOSQ): Psychometric properties in its digital version

2022

The Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire’s (TEOSQ’s) psychometric properties have been explored in previous studies but never in its digital version, which facilitates data collection. The objective of this study was to analyze the psychometric properties of the online TEOSQ by MenPas 1.0. The sample was composed of 2320 users (58.4% women; 41.6% men), between 18 and 65 years old (M = 25.27, SD = 7.39). The methods used were Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and invariance analysis from the original 13-item model. The CFA was corrected for all samples (CFI = 0.92–0.94, TLI = 0.93–0.95, RMSEA = 0.07, SRMR = 0.06; df = 64; Bollen-Stine Bootstrap p = 0.02–0.07): general sample (χ2 …

Development of a novel methodology for determination of dialkyl phosphates in human urine using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry

2019

Abstract In this study a fast and sensitive method was developed for the quantitative determination of six dialkyl phosphates (DAPs) in human urine using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The proposed methodology was based on liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) with diethyl ether and ethyl acetate using MgSO4 and NaCl, followed by liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry detection in the selected reaction mode (SRM) with negative electrospray ionization (ESI-). Detection settings were optimized by design of experiments (DoE). Dibutyl phosphate (DBP) was used as internal standard. Several criteria established in the SANTE/11813/2017 guidance document for pesticide resi…

Validation of a Short Form of Job Crafting Scale in a Spanish Sample

2018

AbstractApplications of job crafting are widespread in the professional practice. In an attempt to measure this phenomenon, Tims, Bakker and Derks (2012) developed a Job Crafting Scale based on the Job Demand-Resources model (JD-R) and validated it in a Dutch sample. However, its application to other cultural contexts presented some difficulties. The present work aimed to validate a shorter version of scale by Tims et al. (2012) in a Spanish sample (n = 1,647). The data were randomly split in two independent subsamples (Sample 1: Explorative; Sample 2: Confirmative). The exploratory factor analysis showed a three-factor structure. Through a confirmatory factor analysis, the four-dimensional…

Measurement of Hedonic and Eudaimonic Orientations to Happiness: The Spanish Orientations to Happiness Scale.

2019

AbstractUnderstanding happiness and well-being has been one of the central issues for psychologists in recent decades. Happiness orientations have been identified as important pathways toward different types of well-being, and so the development and validation of scales for their measurement is an important step in their study. The present research aims to adapt and validate the Spanish Orientations to Happiness Scale (SOTH), a 6-item scale based on the Orientations to Happiness Questionnaire. This brief scale, which measures hedonic and eudemonic orientations, was administered to 1,647 Spanish workers. Scale structure was subjected to exploratory (EFA) and confirmatory (CFA) factor analysi…
