ChemInform Abstract: Topologically Complex Molecules Obtained by Transition Metal Templation: It Is the Presentation that Determines the Synthesis St…
2013
Topological constructions made from closed curves range from simple links to intricate knots and started to capture the chemists' attention in the early sixties. These mathematical objects result from particular embeddings of a single or a set of closed curves in the three-dimensional space that show an infinite variety of presentations. Simple catenanes, higher order interlocked macrocycles, and molecular knots can be synthesized via the metal template approach, just as simple macrocycles. However, this requires that rigid presentations with appropriate geometrical characteristics be identified prior to molecular design, and those selected for the metal-templated synthesis of some of these…
$N$ identical particles and one particle to entangle them all
2017
In quantum information W states are a central class of multipartite entangled states because of their robustness against noise and use in many quantum processes. Their generation however remains a demanding task whose difficulty increases with the number of particles. We report a simple scalable conceptual scheme where a single particle in an ancilla mode works as entanglement catalyst of W state for other $N$ separated identical particles. A crucial novel aspect of the scheme, which exploits basically spatial indistinguishability, is its universality, being applicable without essential changes to both bosons and fermions. Our proposal represents a new paradigm within experimental preparati…
Design for All : Un approccio al design inclusivo
2017
Fixed-size Quadruples for a New, Hardware-Oriented Representation of the 4D Clifford Algebra
2010
Clifford algebra (geometric algebra) offers a natural and intuitive way to model geometry in fields as robotics, machine vision and computer graphics. This paper proposes a new representation based on fixed-size elements (quadruples) of 4D Clifford algebra and demonstrates that this choice leads to an algorithmic simplification which in turn leads to a simpler and more compact hardware implementation of the algebraic operations. In order to prove the advantages of the new, quadruple-based representation over the classical representation based on homogeneous elements, a coprocessing core supporting the new fixed-size Clifford operands, namely Quad-CliffoSor (Quadruple-based Clifford coproces…
Design Space Exploration of Parallel Embedded Architectures for Native Clifford Algebra Operations
2012
In the past few decades, Geometric or Clifford algebra (CA) has received a growing attention in many research fields, such as robotics, machine vision and computer graphics, as a natural and intuitive way to model geometric objects and their transformations. At the same time, the high dimensionality of Clifford algebra and its computational complexity demand specialized hardware architectures for the direct support of Clifford data types and operators. This paper presents the design space exploration of parallel embedded architectures for native execution of four-dimensional (4D) and five-dimensional (5D) Clifford algebra operations. The design space exploration has been described along wit…
Normalised compression distance and evolutionary distance of genomic sequences: comparison of clustering results
2009
Genomic sequences are usually compared using evolutionary distance, a procedure that implies the alignment of the sequences. Alignment of long sequences is a time consuming procedure and the obtained dissimilarity results is not a metric. Recently, the normalised compression distance was introduced as a method to calculate the distance between two generic digital objects and it seems a suitable way to compare genomic strings. In this paper, the clustering and the non-linear mapping obtained using the evolutionary distance and the compression distance are compared, in order to understand if the two distances sets are similar.

INTERESSE PUBBLICO E MODELLI ORGANIZZATIVI DEI SERVIZI A RETE
2010
2009
Freedom and Rights between India and Europe. A Genealogical Approach to Cultural Values - This paper will deal with the issue of human rights and multiculturalism away from cultural relativism and universalism while taking inspiration from Nietzsche’s Moral Genealogy. In particular, the concepts of karma, dharma and trivarga (an indian traditional form of particularism in the law) will be explained as they are expressed in the Bhagavad Gita, one of the most important texts of Indian philosophical literature. From this analysis it will emerge the impossibility of deducing the idea of human rights from the Sanskrit text. Not because the Bhagavad Gita adopts a communitarian conception of the s…
