Artikkelissa tarkastellaan akateemisen maailman reunaehtoja, joihin väitöskirjatutkijat törmäävät tohtoriopinnoissa sekä sitä, millaisia erilaisia polkuja asiantuntijuuteen reunaehdot viitoittavat. Tohtorikoulutusta asiantuntijuuden rakentumisen kontekstina on aiemmin tarkasteltu eri osa-alueiden, kuten ohjauksen tai rahoituksen, näkökulmasta. Sen sijaan tässä artikkelissa tavoittelemamme holistinen, yksilöllisiä ja systeemisiä ehtoja yhdistävä tarkastelu on ollut vähäistä. As a result of this expectation and the demands of sport and education, they may struggle to sustain high levels of motivation for both domains. Composite vignettes of Swedish male and female professional handball players’ career paths

The aim of this study was to describe gender-specific career paths of Swedish professional handball players. A reanalysis of Ekengren et al. (2018) career interviews with nine male and nine female players led to creating two composite vignettes using the athletes’ own words, accounted for typical features in the male and female players’ career paths. Seven themes were identified in the analysis of the men’s transcripts and eight themes derived from the women’s transcripts. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvittää, minkälaisia ovat sosiaalityön ammattilaisten tyypilliset työurapolut ja miten erilaiset polut eroavat toisistaan urakehitykseen vaikuttavien ura-ankkureiden suhteen. Ura-ankkurit kuvaavat itse havaittuja kykyjä, motiiveja ja arvoja, jotka vaikuttavat työelämässä toimimiseen. Työurapolun etenemistä hahmotettiin erilaisten horison-taalisten ja vertikaalisten siirtymien kautta. Tutkimus toteutettiin mixed methods -lähestymistapaa hyödyntäen. This chapter describes the work undertaken by European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network, ELGPN during 2007-15, including the progress of lifelong guidance policy adaptation and implementation processes of the member countries at national, regional and local levels. In an evaluation of ELGPN’s work, members report that participation in the Network enriched their awareness of possible responses to common challenges and given them fresh perspectives and new insights into their national provision.
