Esplorare la povertà urbana in una prospettiva mediterranea: il caso del quartiere CEP a Palermo

The paper addresses the issue of the multiple dimensions of urban poverty through mixed analyses carried out in the CEP neighborhood of Palermo. The article tries to avoid incurring the dichotomy between the Global North and South and adopts a Mediterranean perspective, attempting to describe the neighborhood from below and starting from the voices of its youngest inhabitants. In light of the most recent pandemic events, the issue of urban poverty deserves to be explored with renewed academic debates.

A progressive increase in salinity and marine influence, related to local subsidence characterize the evolution of the lagoon of Cabanes Torreblanca. Relative sea level rise, caused saltwater intrusion and landward migration of the barrier. This barrier is recessive (60-20 m in the last 50 years) and its current processes show a sedimentary deficit that can lead to rapid and irreversible changes. The information shown by this research can help to achieve a sustainable management.
La intensidad de lluvia en entornos mediterráneos. Valores extremos según la escala de observación

Este trabajo estudia la estructura de las intensidades máximas de lluvia a diferentes escalas de observación, entre los 5 minutos y las 24 horas, en la Confederación Hidrográfica del Júcar, en base a datos del SAIH (1994-2007). Aborda además la influencia de los factores de altitud y distancia al mar, así como de la exposición del territorio: litoral-interior y compartimentación general del relieve. Los resultados muestran una gran dependencia de la intensidad en relación con la escala de observación, una influencia significativa de la distancia al mar y dos patrones de intensidad.

The Manning formula is one of the most used to calculate the average velocity of water flow in ungauged channels. In order to be applied, it is necessary to measure in field the hydraulic radius (RH), the slope of the water surface (S), and to obtain the roughness coefficient (n), usually through tables created for this purpose. This paper makes a comparative analysis of territorial conflicts in two districts in two different cities: Valencia in Spain and Montreal in Canada. These two industrial districts are experiencing a deep physical transformation, which has led numerous protests and locational conflicts To do that, a systematic database of conflicts appeared in the last 15 years in each district (Poblats Maritims district in Valencia and Sud-Ouest in Montreal) was set up. We establish finally some interesting conclusions about the relationship between the emergence
