Refinement and validation of a comprehensive scale for measuring HR practices aimed at performance-enhancement and employee-support

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to refine and validate a Human Resource practices (HRP) scale to measure employees' perceptions and test a two-tier model structured in eight practices and two bundles. In a sample of 554 employees, an EFA (Exploratory Factor Analysis) offered six factors that explained about 70% of the variance. Then, with 1647 employees (from 41 Spanish organizations), first- and second-order models were tested with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The former encompasses eight practices. Single tube optimisation of APOE genotyping based on melting curve analysis

Objectives: To develop and validate a single-tube protocol for APOE genotyping using fluorescent probes. Design and methods: We have designed and validated a hybrid, single-tube, SimpleProbe/FRET probe protocol that takes advantage of the different probe wavelength emissions. Results: Our method offers high quality outcomes, minimum interferences between probe signals and is 100% concordant with the reference protocol. Conclusions: This method is cheaper, faster and more reliable and versatile than other alternatives proposed. © 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the TSIA in a mixed clinical and nonclinical sample from Italy. Prognostic impact of copeptin in pulmonary embolism: a multicentre validation study.

To externally validate the prognostic impact of copeptin, either alone or integrated in risk stratification models, in pulmonary embolism (PE), we performed a post hoc analysis of 843 normotensive PE patients prospectively included in three European cohorts.Within the first 30 days, 21 patients (2.5%, 95% CI 1.5–3.8) had an adverse outcome and 12 (1.4%, 95% CI 0.7–2.5) died due to PE.
