La necesaria rehabilitación del sistema representativo en las propuestas de reforma democrática

2010

In the debates on deliberative democracy it’s a common idea that the defenders of this theory argue for the direct participation of the citizens in the political issues and for the transformation of our current representative devices. However, in this work I argue that this conception is misguided, and that it’s the minority who defends the direct participation. The majority of the writers acknowledges the necessity of a representative device, although based on different premises to the liberal system. The deliberative democracy supports a responsible and compromised citizenship, against the model of self interested citizenship.<br><br>En los debates sobre la democracia delibera…

Generalized wave propagation problems and discrete exterior calculus

2018

We introduce a general class of second-order boundary value problems unifying application areas such as acoustics, electromagnetism, elastodynamics, quantum mechanics, and so on, into a single framework. This also enables us to solve wave propagation problems very efficiently with a single software system. The solution method precisely follows the conservation laws in finite-dimensional systems, whereas the constitutive relations are imposed approximately. We employ discrete exterior calculus for the spatial discretization, use natural crystal structures for three-dimensional meshing, and derive a “discrete Hodge” adapted to harmonic wave. The numerical experiments indicate that the cumulat…

Analiza zależności pomiędzy pozycją w rankingu "Diamenty Forbesa" a wzrostem wartości przedsiębiorstwa

2016

Position of companies in various rankings is dependent on many factors, often it is difficult to satisfy all requirements at the same time that the occupied position was one of the best. The analysis of the size of enter- prises in various countries confirms the trend: there is a lot of the small enterprises, and the big ones are the minority. Considering the rankings of firms by size of assets Zipf justified the relationship between the position in the ranking and the size of these assets. The aim of the article was to determine the relationship between the growth of the company and the position in the ranking. Studies have shown that it is possible to describe the dependence of growth ent…

Business valuation: classical and advanced methods

2020

The topic chosen by the authors implies a qualitative rather than quantitative research approach. The aim of this paper is having assessed the value of a particular company using classical and advanced approaches to analyse the evaluation results obtained using different approaches and give recommendations to company managers. To achieve the aim, the following objectives were set: explore different views on the interpretation of the company as a subject of evaluation; analyse the major methods of assessing the value of companies; having gathered empirical data, assess the value of the particular company using classical and advanced methods; conduct a sensitivity analysis by considering fact…

The effects of perceived value, satisfaction, and advertising on share of wallet and word of mouth in a retailing context

2016

Customer loyalty as a topic has been of interest to managers and researchers for several decades. There are a few antecedents for explaining customer loyalty in marketing literature, and researchers have discussed the consequences of loyalty. The reason for interest toward loyalty is the wide assumption that loyal customers have higher retention rates, they buy more, and are more willing to share by word of mouth (WOM) and electronic WOM (eWOM). This is why loyalty is linked to companies' financial performance. The aim of this study was to investigate perceived value (PEVA) and customer satisfaction as the antecedents of loyalty outcomes, such as share of wallet (SOW) and WOM in a retailing…

TECHNOLOGICAL DESIGN. THE INNOVATION IN THE METHOD

2018

The book presents reflections on the centrality of Design in the discipline of Technology of Architecture and on the need to adapt the design method to the innovation of thought implemented by the research world. The theme of the Innovation in the Method of Technological Design is an interesting challenge that in this volume has been addressed considering the complexity of the levels of thematic depth, opening up to critical reflections, proposals for tools and illustration of case studies that show the breadth, relevance and multidimensionality of this issue. The era of digital and information technology have significantly influenced the way of doing and thinking in architecture and this e…

Integración y transformación económica en África: potencial y limitaciones del Área de Libre Comercio Continental Africana

2021

In March 2018, the African Union gave way to the establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area, the largest area of economic integration in the world by number of countries involved. As of June 2020, 54 out of 55 African Union member countries have already signed the agreement, thus showing an almost complete unanimity on this topic. AfCFTA comes up when industrialisation strategies and economic transformation in Africa seem to have taken over orthodox structural adjustment and post-adjustment approaches. AfCFTA aims to increase the scarce intra-African trade, boost economic transformation, create the regional value chains and help African firms to join the global value chains. I…

Jet fragmentation transverse momentum distributions in pp and p-Pb collisions at √s, √sNN = 5.02 TeV

2021

Jet fragmentation transverse momentum (jT) distributions are measured in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. Jets are reconstructed with the ALICE tracking detectors and electromagnetic calorimeter using the anti-kT algorithm with resolution parameter R = 0.4 in the pseudorapidity range |η| < 0.25. The jT values are calculated for charged particles inside a fixed cone with a radius R = 0.4 around the reconstructed jet axis. The measured jT distributions are compared with a variety of parton-shower models. Herwig and Pythia 8 based models describe the data well for the higher jT region, while they underestimate the low…

related to the perturbative component of the fragmentation processthe measured trends are successfully described by all models except for Herwig. For the wide componentHerwig and PYTHIA 8 based models slightly underestimate the data for the higher jet transverse momentum region. These measurements set constraints on models of jet fragmentation and hadronisation.Nuclear and High Energy Physicswhile that of the inverse gamma function increases with increasing jet transverse momentum. For the narrow componentHeavy Ion Experimentsand with a Gaussian for lower jT values (called the “narrow component”)hiukkasfysiikkawhile they underestimate the lower jT region. The jT distributions are further characterised by fitting them with a function composed of an inverse gamma function for higher jT values (called the “wide component”)predominantly connected to the hadronisation process. The width of the Gaussian has only a weak dependence on jet transverse momentumJet fragmentation transverse momentum (jT) distributions are measured in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. Comment positionner l'offre culturelle ? De la compréhension de la relation personne – objet à l'intégration du lieu de consommation

2005

This article seeks to answer the strategic question of the cultural institutions positioning by insisting on the need, on the one hand, for analyzing the total relation between the consumer and the cultural object (central road of positioning definition) and, on the other hand, for considering the role of the cultural place (peripheral road). We will be able to consider that the ways of differentiation are multiple and correspond to a conceptualization of the ambivalent cultural experience.
