Doping violates the Spirit of Sport and is thought to contradict the values which underpin this spirit. Values-based education (VBE) has been cited as a key element for creating a clean sport culture across age groups. Culturally relevant VBE requires understanding of the values that motivate athletes from different countries to practice their sport and uphold clean sport values. WADA's new International Standards for Education makes this study both needed and timely. The paper departs from an urge to understand the operating environment of business firms in the postmodern society. In identifying sustainable development as a key concept, we make use of daily newspapers to explore which values these attach to reporting on sustainable development. On the spectrum of semi-classical Witten-Laplacians and Schrödinger operators in large dimension

We investigate the low-lying spectrum of Witten–Laplacians on forms of arbitrary degree in the semi-classical limit and uniformly in the space dimension. We show that under suitable assumptions implying that the phase function has a unique local minimum one obtains a number of clusters of discrete eigenvalues at the bottom of the spectrum. Moreover, we are able to count the number of eigenvalues in each cluster. We apply our results to certain sequences of Schrodinger operators having strictly convex potentials and show that some well-known results of semi-classical analysis hold also uniformly in the dimension.
On Stability of a Concentrated Fiber Suspension Flow

Linear stability analysis of a fiber suspension flow in a channel domain is performed using a modified Folgar-Tucker equation. Two kinds of potential instability are identified: one is associated with overcritical Reynolds number and another is associated with certain perturbations in fiber orientation field and is present for any Reynolds numbers. The second type of instability leads to initially growing transient perturbations in the microstructure. It is shown that both types of instability lead to instability of the bulk velocity field. High-precision measurement of the mass difference between 102Pd and 102Ru

Abstract The Q-value for the neutrinoless double electron capture on 102Pd, Qϵϵ(102Pd), is determined as the atomic mass difference between 102Pd and 102Ru. A precise measurement of the Qϵϵ(102Pd) at the SHIPTRAP Penning trap showed a more than 10σ deviation to the adopted Atomic Mass Evaluation (AME) value. The reliability of the SHIPTRAP measurement was challenged because the AME value was based on numerous experiments including β and electron capture decays and very precise (n, γ) data, all agreeing with each other. To solve the discrepancy, the Qϵϵ(102Pd) has now been determined with the JYFLTRAP Penning trap at the IGISOL facility in the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyva…
