IntroductionPre-emptive inhaled antibiotics may be effective to reduce the occurrence of ventilator-associated pneumonia among critically ill patients. Meta-analysis of small sample size trials showed a favourable signal. Inhaled antibiotics are associated with a reduced emergence of antibiotic resistant bacteria. Background Adding cyclic short sustained inflations (sigh) to assisted ventilation yields optimizes lung recruitment, decreases heterogeneity and reduces inspiratory effort in patients with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (AHRF). These findings suggest that adding sigh to pressure support ventilation (PSV) might decrease the risk of lung injury, shorten weaning and improve clinical outcomes. Epizodiskas sistēmiskas hipoksijas ietekme uz ķīmijrefleksa jutību

Īslaicīga normobāriska hipoksija treniņu laikā pozitīvi ietekmē organisma adaptācijas reakcijas. Tomēr precīzi mehānismi, kas to ietekmē, nav zināmi un tiek vēl pētīti. Šajā bakalaura darbā tiks apskatīti ķīmijreflksa jutību raksturojošo plaušu ventilācijas parametru, sirdsdarbības frekvences un sistoles tilpuma, kā arī gāzu maiņas ekvivalentu atkarība no akūtas normobāriskas hipoksijas dziļuma un ilguma fizioloģiskā miera stāvoklī. Pētījuma rezultāti rāda, ka ķīmijrefleksa jutībai ir tendence palielināties, palielinot normobāriskas hipoksijas dziļumu.
