Study And Monitoring Of Salt Water Intrusion In The Coastal Area Between Mazara Del Vallo And Marsala (South-Western Sicily)

In this chapter the study of a coastal aquifer located in South-Western Sicily (between the towns of Marsala and Mazara del Vallo) is presented, carried out using geochemical, hydro-geological and geophysical techniques. The aquifer has been over-exploited to the point of being subject to intense and worrisome salt-water intrusion. A preliminary chemical and physical characterization of the waters was carried out; this included measuring their conductivity and their chloride content. This allowed to detect the marine intrusion wedge in the coastal aquifer. The paper aims to explain the metalinguistic value of three distinct but related concepts of the Theory of Predicative and Enunciative Operations (henceforth, TOPE). Abstract Front-face acoustic reflectivity of ultrasonic imaging transducers, due to acoustic impedance mismatch with the propagation medium, may cause reverberation phenomena during wideband pulse-echo operation. Front-face reflectivity may be reduced by promoting the transmission of the echoes, received from the medium, to the transducer backing, and by maximizing the mechanical-to-electrical energy conversion and dissipation by tuning the electrical load impedance connected to the transducer. With the use of structural magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, we can investigate the effect of AD on the morphology of the hippocampus. A gummy smile is one of the most problematic characteristics in patients with a Class II Division 2 malocclusion, and the correction of vertical position and incisor torque is often challenging for the orthodontist. This case report describes the orthodontic treatment of a 31-year-old woman, assisted by miniscrew mechanics for maxillary arch distalization and correction of a gummy smile with a brachyfacial pattern. Two different mechanics were used. Miniscrews were placed in both maxillary tuberosities, and the maxillary arch was successfully distalized, correcting the Class II relationship.
