Entre la sintaxis y el discurso: el caso de 'a lo mejor' y 'al menos' en la conversación coloquial

This paper studies the Spanish forms a lo mejor (maybe) and al menos (at least) from a modular perspective, revisiting the categorization of a lo major and al menos according to the involved linguistic level and analyzing the relations between the adverbial uses of these forms and the discursive ones. Such relations show that the forms a lo mejor and al menos can be considered bicategorial lexical items, what is implemented by a corpus study based on data from spoken language.
Konstrukciju bezpriedēkļa darbības vārds + apstākļa vārds un priedēkļa darbības vārds + apstākļa vārds attieksmes un lietojums latviešu valodā

Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt bezpriedēkļa verba + adverba un priedēkļverba + adverba konstrukciju lietojumu un savstarpējās attieksmes latviešu valodā, kā arī šais konstrukcijās iesaistīto verbu un adverbu leksiskās nozīmes. Darbs sastāv no ievada, trim nodaļām, secinājumiem un izmantotās literatūras saraksta. Pirmajā nodaļā aprakstīts verba veids un konstrukcijas verbs + adverbs. Otrajā nodaļā aplūkotas un analizētas konstrukcijas bezpriedēkļa verbs + adverbs, trešajā nodaļā – konstrukcijas priedēkļa verbs + adverbs. Darbā izmantota aprakstošā, salīdzinošā, distributīvā un transformatīvā metode.

In this article we examine some effects of language contact in the multilingual province of Trento, where Romance and Germanic varieties have been in contact for centuries. We focus on the syntax of phrasal verbs (e. g. ‘go out’, ‘get away’) in Trentin, a Romance dialect group, in Fassan, a Rhaeto-romance variety, and in Cimbrian, a German(ic) minority language. In particular, we deal with two word order phenomena which might be attributed to contact with the more prestigious or widespread varieties spoken in the area: (i) in some Fassan phrasal verbs we find the order «Verb – XP – Locative element», which resembles the German order; (ii) in Cimbrian various syntactic positions are possible…

This chapter compares Pseudo-relatives (‘PRs’), a construction found in most Romance languages, with ‘Subject-wieclauses’ (‘SWs’), a German construction in which the subject of an embedded wie-clause precedes the complementizer wie (‘how’; e.g. Ich sah Maria, wie sie sang, lit. “I saw Mary, how she sung”, i.e. ‘I saw Mary singing’). We show that both constructions mainly occur with perception verbs, and that they have a very similar syntactic behaviour; e.g., they can be coordinated with adjectival or prepositional small clauses and have anaphoric tense. Maģistra darba „Modālu un fāzes verbu kombinācijas konstrukcijās ar nenoteiksmi” mērķis ir apskatīt iespējamās kombinācijas, kas sastata izteicējā veidojas, modālajiem verbiem vajadzēt, gribēt un varēt kombinējoties ar citiem modālajiem verbiem un fāzes verbiem konstrukcijās ar nenoteiksmi. Līdz šim latviešu valodniecībā skatīta atsevišķu modālo verbu semantika, bet nav pētītas modālo verbu kombinācijas. Modālo darbības vārdu un tiem pielīdzināmo vārdu un frāžū lietojums laikrasta rakstos var atklāt rakstnieka attieksmi un viedokli pret paziņotiem faktiem. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt modālo darbības vārduun tiem pielīdzināmo vārdu un frāžū lietojumu laikrakstā „The Guardian”. Metode, kas tika izmantota darbā ir kvantitatīvā un kvalitatīvā analīze. Praktiskā daļa ir balstīta uz 15 rakstu analīzi, kas bija ņemti no laikraksta “The Guardian”. Rezultāti parādīja, ka modālie darbības vārdi, kā arī citi pielīdznināmie vārdi, tiek bieži izmantoti, un tiem irdažādas nozīmes tekstā. The study subject are Polish translations of the French structure NP1 + voir + NP2 + infinitive; we reject cases where the NP1 is represented by the pronoun on, and concentrate on translations in which the infinitive is not rendered. The analysis is based on the corpus of texts embracing 58 pairs of examples, each of which contains a French sentence with the investigated construction and a Polish sentence with its equivalent. Our aim is to identify factors which make translators erase the French infinitive.
