Dianthus × ossetianus (Caryophyllaceae), un nuevo híbrido para la flora valenciana

A new hybrid of the genus Dianthus (Caryophyllaceae), D. × ossetianus is described coming from the hybridization between D. broteri subsp. valentinus and D. edetanus. A morphological description is reported, emphasizing the main diagnostic characters which allow the separation from its parent taxa. This hybrid has been found at the provinces of Castellón and Valencia.

Extracellular zinc intake in cultured astrocytes is altered by ethanol exposure

Ethanol reduces the amount of intracellular zinc detectable with TSQ. Ethanol impairs astrocyte Zn management. It results in a lower capacity for exogenous Zn intake and delivering to zincosomes. Thus, Zn supplementation (dietary?) may not be enough for recovery of cellular normal function; as it happens in alcohol treated astrocytes. Zincosomes are a kind of low density primary endosomes.

Recientes hipótesis sugieren que alteraciones en la plasticidad estructural neuronal están implicadas en ciertos desórdenes psiquiátricos como la esquizofrenia y la depresión. En este sentido, se ha demostrado la presencia de remodelado dendrítico y de espinas en modelos animales de ansiedad y depresión, asi como en pacientes humanos de estos desórdenes.
