Dynamic interface for machine vision systems

Iconic programming intends to provide expressive tools to implement, to debug, and to execute programs. For this purpose, visual languages need pictorial constructs and metaphors to guide the design of algorithms in interactive fashion. In the paper a new class of dynamic visual interfaces, named DIVA (Dynamic Interface for Visual Applications), is introduced, its properties are described, and an application to visual compilers in a multi-processors system dedicated to image analysis is given. Moreover, a formal definition of dynamic icon (DI) is also given.
Virtual Synchronous Generator: An application to Microgrid Stability

The objective of this paper is to illustrate an alternative control algorithm for power converters which have the task of introducing the energy generated by systems based on the use of renewable sources such as photovoltaic or wind power, into small-sized networks, microgrids. Virtual Synchronous Generator can operate both in parallel to the main network as well as in isolated and autonomous conditions (islanding-mode). The contribute of this work is to drive a consolidated approach, made in the time domain, in a more flexible and less time-consuming approach based on Park transformation
Dispersive evaluation of the D-term form factor in deeply virtual Compton scattering

We present a dispersive representation of the D-term form factor for hard exclusive reactions, using unsubtracted $t$-channel dispersion relations. The $t$-channel unitarity relation is saturated with the contribution of two-pion intermediate states, using the two-pion distributions amplitude for the $\gamma^*\gamma\rightarrow \pi\pi$ subprocess and reconstructing the $\pi\pi\rightarrow N\bar N$ subprocess from available information on pion-nucleon partial-wave helicity amplitudes. Results for the D-term form factor as function of $t$ as well as at $t=0$ are discussed in comparison with available model predictions and phenomenological parametrizations.
Gluon imaging using azimuthal correlations in diffractive scattering at the Electron-Ion Collider

We study coherent diffractive photon and vector meson production in electron-proton and electron-nucleus collisions within the Color Glass Condensate effective field theory. We show that electron-photon and electron-vector meson azimuthal angle correlations are sensitive to non-trivial spatial correlations in the gluon distribution of the target, and perform explicit calculations using spatially dependent McLerran-Venugopalan initial color charge configurations coupled to the numerical solution of small $x$ JIMWLK evolution equations. En este trabajo intentaré explicar por qué las virtudes cívicas constituyen una condición necesaria para la estabilidad de las instituciones en un Estado liberal. Sin embargo, este punto pone en entredicho algunas de las coordenadas de la topografía moral de Rawls. Por esta razón, presentaré una interpretación de las últimas obras de Rawls que pueda tener en cuenta el papel de las virtudes cívicas en el fortalecimiento de las instituciones en una comunidad “políticoliberal”. Augmented reality has been used in many fields, but it has not been used to treat psychological disorders. Augmented reality presents several advantages respect to: the traditional treatment of psychological disorders and virtual reality treatments. In this paper we present the first augmented reality system for the treatment of phobia to cockroaches. Our system has been developed using ARToolkit software. Izglītībā un sabiedrībā kopumā ir vērojama pretrunīga attieksme par mācību procesa virtualizāciju. Vajadzība konstatēt topošo skolotāju gatavību iekļauties virtualizētā izglītības telpā noteica Raimonda Stroda maģistra darba tematu „Topošo skolotāju mediju kompetence sabiedrības ilgtspējīgai attīstībai”. Analizējot teorētisko literatūru, tika raksturots izglītības virtualizācijas konceptuālais ietvars. Pētījuma empīriskajā daļā, izmantojot jaukto metožu pieeju, tika raksturota topošo skolotāju mediju kompetence un jauno skolotāju mediju kompetences rādītāji, kā arī viedoklis izglītības virtualizācijas kontekstā. Anthropomorphism and social presence in Human–Virtual service assistant interactions: The role of dialog length and attitudes

In this study, we delve into the perceived quality of recommendations provided by AI-based virtual service assistants (VSAs). Specifically, the role of the social presence of VSAs in influencing recommendation perceptions is investigated. We also explore how the social presence of a VSA is formed and how perceived anthropomorphism plays a vital role in shaping social presence and eventually instilling trust in VSAs among consumers.
