Interactive geovisualization portals, set up on the Internet after the iconic Google Maps, are highly regarded by the public. They provide the ability to see from above the surface of our planet, and more specifically the French territory in the case of Geoportail. But like Icare, swept away by the flyby, we almost forget the prohibition of approaching too close certain objects. On French territory, some 150 sites are in fact hidden by the IGN. This paper question the relevance and efficiency of this operation imposed on the main body of production and dissemination of spatial information in France.

The Erlangen anatomist Joseph von Gerlach was one of the first medical researchers who used microphotography for their scientific aims in basic tissue research. Already in 1863, Gerlach published a famous handbook on the methodology of the microphotographic technique, entitled Die Photographie als Hulfsmittel mikroskopischer Forschung. Here, he discussed the technological, practical and epistemological standards and constraints of the newly introduced visualisation technique of scientific photography. Correction of B-scan distortion for optimum ultrasonic imaging of backwalls with complex geometries

Ultrasound undergoes refraction and reflection at interfaces between media of different acoustic refractive indices. The most common ultrasonic method (pulse-echo) monitors the reflected energy to infer the presence of flaws, whereas the lower amplitude of refracted signals is ignored. When the reflector is orientated normally with respect to the ultrasonic beam, the received echo signal shows the maximum amplitude. The pulse-echo method also relies on monitoring the amplitude of the backwall echo to identify or confirm the presence of defects. This article analyses Margarethe von Trotta’s film Hannah Arendt: The Woman Who Saw Banality in Evil through its protagonist’s own writings on visual culture, visibility and invisibility in the context of political thinking. We start by clarifying Arendt’s understanding of political theory as an activity aiming to provoke thinking. We then discuss systematically the visual language of the film and offer a typology of its representations of political thinking, subdivided into a part on internalisation and one on externalisation (dialogue). La tâche consiste à trouver un appartement cible possédant un ou plusieurs critères spécifiques dans un site web d'agence immobilière spécialement conçu. Plusieurs conditions ont été testées.
