Validation in Young Soccer Players of the Modified Version of the Harre Circuit Test: The Petrucci Ability Test

2021

The evaluation of soccer players’ physical fitness from youth onward is important for monitoring performance and planning training. While health-related factors present valid and reliable tests, the skill-related component should be studied in depth. An interesting test to evaluate the skill-related factors is the Harre circuit test (HTC); unfortunately, this test includes the somersault, an element not present in soccer. The aim of the present study is the validation of the Petrucci ability test (PAT), a variation of the HTC without the somersault for young soccer players. Children and adolescents (age range 10–13 years old) soccer players concluded the 20-m, the HTC and the PAT. To establ…

Szwabowie przeciwko Normanom w bitwie pod Civitate w 1053 r. Pomiędzy skandynawską a bizantyńską sztuką prowadzenia wojny

2017

The Battle of Civitate in 1053 was the clash of two worlds. On the one hand, the people of Italy, who defended the old status quo, led by Pope Leo IX. These descendants of the Lombards and the ancient Romans, stand in front of the descendants of the Danes and Norwegians, who earlier created state later called Normandy. The Normans were the new factor, which disrupted the fragile balance of forces in the Mezzogiorno, between the world of Latin, the Greeks, and Islam. The nwecomers from the north of France, only nominally resembled their pedecessors from Scandinavia, representing a new school of warfare, in which they in a kind of synthesis combined the world of the Vikings and the Carolingia…

Appartenenza e alterità: sull’idea di cittadinanza nell’esperienza giuridica romana

2022

The paper discusses a plethora of ideas regarding the concept of Roman citizenship, which is addressed in the light of a theory of fellowship (meaning ‘to be part of a given community’) and a theory of otherness (meaning ‘a relationship with someone who is not part of a given community’). There will be a brief overview of the development of citizenship in Ancient Roman history (during the period of Kings, Republican and Imperial Rome). Several interpretations of well-known phrases, such as ‘civis Romanus sum’ or ‘adipisci civitatem ob virtutem’, are discussed and many phenomena are analyzed, such as the expulsion of the Latin population from Rome in the second century B.C.
