Social Environmental Antecedents of Athletes’ Emotions

The coach-created motivational climate influences variations in athletes’ motivation and emotional experiences. The present study aimed to examine social environmental antecedents of athletes’ emotions. Participants (N = 262, 52% female, M age = 22.75 ± 6.92) completed questionnaires assessing perceptions of coach-created motivational climates, goal orientations, motivation regulations, and emotions. Abstract This paper seeks to advance research on the nexus of language, work-related training and affective capitalism by focusing on an entrepreneurship workshop organized for newly arrived refugees in Germany. Despite the occupational orientation, the primary objective of the workshop was not establishing a business but “empowering” the participants by guiding them to adopt “an entrepreneurial mindset”. Abstract Pioneers of organic farming often faced social challenges as their innovative ideas on agriculture not only encountered opposition in the conventional farming community, but led to stigmatization of organic farmers as social deviants. In this study, we examine what kind of stigma management strategies pioneer organic farmers engage with in order to cultivate an alternative positive image of themselves. Our research is based on the interviews with 14 pioneer organic farmers. This qualitative metasynthesis investigated students’ meaningful learning experiences amid andragogical teacher education programmes. The programmes catered to the specific learning needs of adult students in the context of university-based teacher education. This study aimed to provide a wider picture of the frames of students’ meaningful learning in andragogical teacher education programmes. The findings revealed three major learning worlds of adult students’ meaningful learning, which formed a common system widening from the professional awakening to the transformative community and agency in society. Tutkielmassani käsittelen aktivoitumista voimaantumisprosessin osana, johon henkilö kiinnittyy henkilökohtaisen päätöksentekoprosessin myötä. Päätöksentekoprosessin viitekehyksenä tarkastelen suomalaista aktiivista sosiaalipolitiikkaa 1990-luvun alusta lähtien. Tavoitteenani on tuoda uutta sisältöä nykyiseen aikuissosiaalityön aktivointikeskusteluun tarkastelemalla aktivoitumista ei pelkästään sosiaalipoliittisesta ja rakenteellisesta näkökulmasta, vaan ensisijaisesti yksilön subjektiivisena päätöksentekoprosessina.
