In the last two decades, the use of pumice as lightweight aggregate for concrete in structural applications has been the object of different studies. The aim was to find out if pumice can be an alternative to ordinary lightweight aggregate. The present paper is framed in this context. Here, a study is presented showing the use of pumice for making lightweight concrete units for masonry members. Through the paper, the formulation of a mix design for lightweight concrete is proposed. Lower thoracic spine extension mobility is associated with higher intensity of thoracic spine pain

Objectives: To evaluate the association of thoracic spine (TS) posture and mobility with TS pain. Methods: Participants with TS pain reported maximum, average, and night pain in TS area, and pain summary score was calculated. Upright and sitting TS postures were evaluated by inspection. TS posture and mobility (flexion and extension) were recorded using an inclinometer and a tape measure, respectively. Correlations between posture and mobility assessments were calculated using Spearman rank correlation, the association of TS posture and mobility with TS pain by logistic regression analysis. The effects of brand engagement in social media on share of wallet

Customer engagement and share‐of‐wallet (SOW) are relatively new in the marketing literature, and academic research has only limitedly examined these concepts. This study presents five motivational drivers of customer brand engagement in social media and examines the nature of the relationship between these drivers and engagement. The moderation effect of consumer innovativeness on the relationship between engagement and SOW is also examined. Results suggest that community exerts the strongest positive effect on customer brand engagement and that such engagement positively influences SOW. The paper concerns the experimental results performed on steel (S 235) zinc plated panels having 1500 x 1150 x 1.5 mm dimensions, linked to hinged steel frame. In order to the slenderness of plates, considerable displacements out-of-plane are evident at loads significantly lower of ultimate load. Considering the steel constitutive curves obtained from tensile tests, the comparison of experimental and numerical (ADINA) results is proposed. The results show the excellent seismic behaviour of the system having stable hysteresis loops.

Evaluation of web reinforcements in prestressed concrete box girders through shear-transverse bending domains

In concrete box girders, the amount and distribution of reinforcements in the webs have to be estimated considering the local effects due to eccentric external loads and cross-sectional distortion and not only the global effect due to the resultant forces of a longitudinal analysis: shear, torsion and bending. This work presents an analytical model that allows designers to take into account the interaction of all these effects, global and local, for the determination of the reinforcements. Infantilas rīšanas paradumi un citas orofaciālā kompleksa atradnes pirmsskolas vecuma bērniem Latvijā

Ievads: Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt saikni starp infantilas rīšanas paradumiem ar citām orofaciālā kompleksa atradnēm pirmsskolas vecuma bērniem Latvijā. Paralēli tam mēs pētījām arī oklūziju. Metodes: Šajā šķērsgriezuma pētījumā piedalījās 141 pirmsskolas vecuma bērnu no 4 līdz 7 gadiem un viņu mātes. Orofaciālā kompleksa izmeklēšanu veica divi ortodonti, kurā tika novērtēta orofaciālā kompleksa miofunkcionālā situācija, oklūzija un bērnu runas defekti. Mātēm tika sniegtas anketas, lai iegūtu informāciju par bērnu veselības stāvokli un citiem identifikācijas datiem.
