The year 2020 saw the centenary of the return of Pomerania to Poland, which regained access to the Baltic Sea. This event, along with many other issues connected with the establishment of the Polish state after the First World War, has been the subject of historians’ research for years. This also applies to history educators who analyse the contents of school textbooks. The author of this article, which is consistent with this research trend, decided to analyse dozens of the most popular textbooks for teaching history in secondary schools used by Polish pupils over the past 30 years, i.e. in the period from 1990 to 2020. The subject of the article is, modern in last decades, a creative way of parasitising on someone else‘s texts – a reinterpretation of texts which were written some time ago. As an example of such a modern drama strategy, called a literary recycling, I chose ―The Wedding‖ on the basis of Wyspianski‘s ―The Wedding‖ presented in Jan Kochanowski Theatre in Opole. The author traces the transition of the royal court of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth to the Western European model of court ceremonies, which lasted for almost two centuries, from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries. Initially, they followed the ceremonial models of the House of Habsburg and, starting in the 1640s, the French ceremonial, refined at the Versailles of Louis XIV. Meant to extol the monarch in the eyes of subjects, such ceremonies became widespread under kings of the House of Vasa, Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki, Jan III Sobieski, and the House of Wettin. In recent times thorough changes concerning the treatment of the wedding vows take place. One of the ways to create a positive approach to marriage seems to be a solemn observation of marriage jubilees .The paper deals with the historical process of the development of the forms of observance concerning wedding anniversaries. However the main emphasis is put on the rites of wedding anniversary in post conciliar liturgical books. The reader may also become aware of the idea and history of pilgrimages organized on the occasion of the silver and golden marriage jubilees, considering also a strong and clear testimony to the importance of the wedding vows.

Artykuł analizuje naukę o małżeństwie w dwóch współczesnych, niemieckich katechizmach: Evangelischer Erwachsener Katechismus (Ewangelicki katechizm dla dorosłych) i w przetłumaczonym na język polski Katolickim katechizmie dorosłych. Po ogólnym wprowadzeniu treść pierwszego z nich zebrana jest wokół tematów: małżeństwo cywilne a ślub kościelny, istota małżeństwa, formy małżeństwa, rozwód małżeński, małżeństwa mieszane. Tematami drugiego są: małżeństwo jako sakrament, istotne przymioty małżeństwa, małżeństwa mieszane. Artykuł kończy krótkie podsumowanie.

The Holy Bible is the basic source of the wedding homily. Apart from the Bible, the ordinances of the sacrament of marriage are an important element of the content of the homily. The words of the marriage vow are a sacramental formula and a constitutive sign of the sacrament of marriage. They express their marital agreement and establish a marriage covenant. Hence, the content analysis of marital promises in the context of preaching a wedding homily plays an important role, which is still too little used in preaching. Bakalaura darbā tiek ietverts īss ieskats ķīniešu tradīcijās, jo tautas rituāli galvenokārt ir saistīti ar ģimenes notikumiem – dzimšanu, kāzām un bērēm.
