Alvas noteikšana konservētos augļos
2016
2009
Solunto is one of the most important Phoenician-Punic colonies of north-western Sicily. Archaeometric researches carried out in the last years ascertained a local production of transport amphorae during Archaic and Classic age (7th-5th century B.C.) through mineralogical, petrographical and chemical analysis of ceramic samples, kiln refuses and local raw materials (clays and alluvial sands). In connection with these earliest works, the present paper was focused on some specific forms of fine-tempered table ware of Archaic age and/or Classic-Hellenistic age. This pottery has been recurrently brought to light in Solunto and it is furthermore suspected to be, at least to some extent, a local r…
Complementarity of the XRF and LIBS analyses in the conservation science: the case studies of the bronze alloys
2011
The present study confirms how the integrated use of non-destructive or micro-destructive spectroscopic techniques are capable to provide a clear response to the investigative needs in the conservation science. In particular, the X-ray fluorescence analysis in association with laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy can be useful for collecting information about chemical composition and elemental stratigraphic distribution of the external layers. The complementarity of these techniques has been tested by analysing bronze samples, made in the laboratory according to binary, ternary and quaternary alloys, typical of Roman archaeometallurgical production and buried for one year. The findings have…

Latvijas atradņu dzelzsrūdu sastāva noteikšana
2022
Latvijas atradņu dzelzsrūdu sastāva noteikšana. Vorobjovs D., zinātniskie vadītāji: prof., Dr. chem. Vīksna A. un asoc. prof., Dr. geol. Stinkulis Ģ. Bakalaura darbs, 62 lappuses, 35 attēli, 7 tabulas, 45 literatūrās avoti, 2 pielikumi. Latviešu valodā. Bakalaura darba ietvaros veica kvalitatīvo (mineraloģisko) dzelzsrūdu paraugu analīzi laboratorijas apstākļos, izmantojot pulvera rentgendifraktometrijas (XRD) metodi, ka arī tika izmantota rentgenstaru fluorescence (XRF) un lāzera inducētas sadalīšanās spektroskopija (LIBS) rūdu kvantitatīvā ķīmiskā sastāva noteikšanai.

Interface Solid-State Reactions in La0.8Sr0.2MnO3/Ce0.8Sm0.2O2 and La0.8Sr0.2MnO3/BaCe0.9Y0.1O3 Disclosed by X-ray Microspectroscopy
2019
The stability of the electrode/electrolyte interface is a critical issue in solid-oxide cells working at high temperatures, affecting their durability. In this paper, we investigate the solid-state chemical mechanisms that occur at the interface between two electrolytes (Ce0.8Sm0.2O2, SDC, and BaCe0.9Y0.1O3, BCY) and a cathode material (La0.8Sr0.2MnO3, LSM) after prolonged thermal treatments. Following our previous work on the subject, we used X-ray microspectroscopy, a technique that probes the interface with submicrometric resolution combining microanalytical information with the chemical and structural information coming from space-resolved X-ray absorption spectroscopy. In LSM/BCY, the …
Data on phase and chemical compositions of black sands from “El Ostional” beach situated in Mompiche, Ecuador
2020
Abstract Data revealing the phase and chemical compositions of natural black sands from “El Ostional” beach, located in the northern Ecuadorian Pacific coast have been presented. The samples were collected from six points over the shore area of approximately 500 × 40 m2. The data on crystalline phases (iron titanium oxide, orthoclase feldspar and zircon) were determined by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), while semi-quantitative chemical analyses of major (Fe and Ti) and trace elements were obtained by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF). The phase composition was verified by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), using backscattered electron (BSE) mode and energy dispersive spectroscopy (ED…
