En esta tesis doctoral se muestra la conversión directa de fibroblastos embrionarios de ratón a células con morfología y fenotipo similares al hepatocito mediante la expresión retroviral de seis factores de transcripción hepáticos, Hhex, Gata4, Foxa2, HNF4α HNF1α y HNF6. Los fibroblastos infectados mantenidos durante 3-4 semanas en cultivo adquieren una morfología epitelial y expresan genes típicamente hepáticos como Albumina, Cyp7a1, Tat o Slc10a1 a niveles próximos al hepatocito. Durante la manipulación de los fibroblastos mediante la expresión de los factores de transcripción ya mencionados, observamos que el factor de transcripción Gata4 es capaz de bloquear la reprogramación a células …

The exploration of the self-organization of a range of the polyoxometalate-based molecular structures reveals a diverse range of surface patterns and morphologies on solid substrates of technological interest, including methylated and hydroxylated silicon surfaces (namely, SiCH3 and SiOH). By exploiting the interplay between the intrinsic molecular properties and the surface chemistry as well as dynamic spatiotemporal phenomena (e.g., dewetting), we show that these systems can yield 0D, 2D, and 3D architectures via solution deposition at the solid surface, including nanodots, discs, lamellas, porous networks, and layer-by-layer assemblies. From being ignored to engaging in dialogue : Young boys' narratives of children's participation in child–parent conflicts

This paper examines children's opportunities to participate in everyday child–parent conflicts as revealed in young boys' fictional narratives. The data were collected from 19 boys aged 3–6 years using the Story Magician's Play Time method. Narrative analysis yielded four story types: ignored participation stories, parent-directed participation stories, child-directed participation stories and dialogical participation stories. The study illustrates that when considering children's participation in child–parent conflicts, differences between children in their opportunities to participate in resolving conflicts should be taken into account. Design Longitudinal qualitative study. Method Life story interviews with 18 talented Finnish athletes (10 cis women, 8 cis men) at four points in time – when they averaged 16, 17, 19, and 20 years of age – followed by an integrative narrative-discursive analysis. ‘‘What an Eccentric Performance" : Storytelling in Online Let's Plays

In this article, I examine the phenomenon called Let’s Play (LP) and conduct a narrative analysis on two LPs made of Sierra Entertainment’s Phantasmagoria games. The LPs tell viewers a story different from the one told in the games, that is, they tell the story of the player rather than that of the game. In that story, the experience of playing a video game is revealed to the audience. This story would be hidden without the player-narrators know as LPs around the world. I conduct my analysis by describing seven different narrative elements that form the narration of a LP and explain how these elements together form this story of the player. peerReviewed
