A soldier’s occupational physical task requirements are diverse and varied. However, the type of physical training that most effectively improves soldiers’ occupational task requirements has not been studied previously. The purpose of this study was to determine the important strength characteristics for soldiers during a repeated simulated military task course, and the type of training that may be effective to improve these abilities during a specialized military training period. Rhythms of breathing and heartbeat are linked to each other as well as to rhythms of the brain. Our recent studies suggest that presenting the conditioned stimulus during expiration or during the diastolic phase of the cardiac cycle facilitates neural processing of that stimulus and improves learning an eyeblink classical conditioning task. Przedstawiono znaczenie, rozwój metod otrzymywania, kierunki zastosowania i perspektywy rozwoju poliolefin (polietylenu i polipropylenu), materiałów dominujących w światowej produkcji i zużyciu tworzyw sztucznych. Scharakteryzowano oddziaływania tych polimerów na środowisko, kolejno w etapie ich wytwarzania, wykorzystywania i utylizacji odpadów poużytkowych. Scharakteryzowano także kierunki badań prowadzonych w Instytucie Chemii Uniwersytetu Opolskiego w zakresie syntezy, charakterystyki, a przede wszystkim temo- i fotooksydacyjnej degradacji oraz starzenia atmosferycznego poliolefin.
The conformational properties of dehydrobutyrine and dehydrovaline: theoretical and solid-state conformational studies

Dehydrobutyrine is the most naturally occurring dehydroamino acid. It is also the simplest dehydroamino acid having the geometrical isomers E/Z. To investigate its conformational properties, a theoretical analysis was performed on N‐acetyl‐α,β‐dehydrobutyrine N′‐methylamides, Ac‐(E)‐ΔAbu‐NHMe and Ac‐(Z)‐ΔAbu‐NHMe, as well as the dehydrovaline derivative Ac‐ΔVal‐NHMe. The ϕ, ψ potential energy surfaces and the localised conformers were calculated at the B3LYP/6‐311 + + G(d,p) level of theory both in vacuo and with inclusion of the solvent (chloroform, water) effect (SCRF method). The X‐ray crystal structures of Ac‐(Z)‐ΔAbu‐NHMe and Ac‐ΔVal‐NHMe were determined at 85 and 100 K, respectively. …

Abstract The majority of countries with advanced information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure have been experiencing extended stagnation due to an “embedded” trap in ICT advancement. However, certain countries have been able to sustain a high level of ICT- driven global competitiveness. This suggests that in these contexts there is resilience beyond economic value. Recent research on software revenue and pricing models has revealed important ways in which firms can benefit from software renting. However, it is still unclear how SaaS providers select a proper revenue and pricing model to make their services attractive for customers. Based on 32 interviews with software professionals from four case firms, this study reveals how different factors impacted on the selection of a revenue and pricing model. How do rural areas profile in the futures dreams by the Finnish youth?

Abstract Demographic trends do not give much hope for rural regions in developed economies. Many studies prescribe rural futures as manifestations of consumption of the countryside by an urban majority. However, many of these macro-images and typologies lack explicit micro-agency. This article illustrates what are the expectations from personal futures in rural areas, where specifically and by whom. The respondents of a national survey represented the Finnish youth, who described their dream future in 2030 in terms of livelihood, accommodation and lifestyle recipe.
