Digital Mental Health Resources for Children and Youth : Evaluation of Strengths in User Interface Design

The aim of this research is to explore the positive user interface (UI) design of digital mental health resources for children and youth. For this purpose, a heuristic model is introduced and heuristic evaluation is used as a method to systematically assess 49 digital mental health resources. In the assessment, the resources are evaluated by observing the prevalence of UI design strengths defined in the heuristic model. The results of the study indicate that the resources analyzed have strengths especially in the dimensions of visual design, content, reliability, engagement and functional design. This chapter explores how growing up environments and landscapes are remembered, described and depicted in autobiographies written by people who experienced the reconstruction era in northern Finland in their childhood and youth. The article is based on a collection of submissions to the essay called “Generations of Youth” in 2010 and archived in the Finnish Folklore Archives. The texts provide an interesting opportunity to investigate the cultural meanings attached to growing up environments, mindscapes, and places of childhood and youth in post-war Finland. Dlatego też nastolatkowie kierują się po pomoc w stronę swoich najbliższych, do których mają zaufanie i zawsze mogą liczyć na rzeczową rozmowę i radę. Streszczenie: Wsparcie społeczne ma miejsce wtedy, gdy człowiek może liczyć na pomoc wynikającą z zachowań prospołecznych osoby lub grupy. Jest zawsze aktualne i najprawdopodobniej każdy będzie go kiedyś potrzebował. Agresja jest celowym wyrządzaniem krzywdy innej osobie, bojącej się i chcącej uniknąć bólu i cierpienia. Może być sposobem na szybką realizację doraźnego celu, ale niszczy przez to stosunki z ludźmi. Materiał i metody: Badania przeprowadzono wśród uczniów szkół ponadgimnazjalnych z powiatu bialskiego, województwa lubelskiego.
