In communication, every speaker must choose meticulously the aptness in the word, the gesture, the smile, the look or even the silence. The being-speaker hides and beyond protects himself behind his discursive mask which provides him with a linguistic security. While many disciplines - social psychology, psychoanalysis and philosophy – have seized the notion of the mask in their frame of reference, this concept still remains absent today in the language sciences. How do we exist in the world? And how to settle down effectively in one language or another language? This article is largely based on reflections of the book Linguistics, cognition and didactics. Principles and exercises of linguistic-didactic, masterpiece of linguist Samir Bajrić. In this text, we are mainly interested in cognition, language, and the appropriation of a language or another language, and in which we conduct a cognitive, linguistic and philosophical research on the human being and on the speaker-being while taking advantage of linguistic neoteny. The languages analyzed in this text are mainly French and Mandarin.
