Novel Stability Criteria for T--S Fuzzy Systems

In this paper, novel stability conditions for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems are presented. The so-called nonquadratic membership-dependent Lyapunov function is first proposed, which is formulated in a higher order form of both the system states and the normalized membership functions than existing techniques in the literature. Then, new membership-dependent stability conditions are developed by the new Lyapunov function approach. It is shown that the conservativeness of the obtained criteria can be further reduced as the degree of the Lyapunov function increases. A comparative study on the dynamic response of three semisubmersible floating offshore wind turbines

Abstract Currently, there is a great interest to globally develop offshore wind energy due to the greenhouse effect and energy crisis. Great efforts have been devoted to develop reliable floating offshore wind energy technology to exploit the wind energy resources in deep seas. This paper presents a comparative study of the dynamic response of three different semisubmersible floating wind turbine structures. All the three platforms support the same 5MW wind turbine. Robust Finite-Time Control of Switched Linear Systems and Application to a Class of Servomechanism Systems

This paper investigates finite-time (FT) stability and stabilization problems for a class of switched linear systems with polytopic uncertainties. Both stable and unstable subsystems are considered to coexist in the system, and a new concept of extended FT stability is proposed as the first attempt. State feedback control against sensor faults for Lipschitz nonlinear systems via new sliding mode observer techniques

This paper investigates the problem of simultaneous state and fault estimation and observer-based fault tolerant controller design for Lipschitz nonlinear systems with sensor failure. A new estimation technique is presented in this paper to deal with this design problem. In the proposed approaches, the original system is first augmented by a descriptor model transformation, then a new Proportional and Derivative sliding mode observer technique is developed to obtain accurate estimations of both system states and sensor faults. Robust control of continuous-time systems with state-dependent uncertainties and its application to electronic circuits

In this paper, the problems of robust stability and stabilization are investigated for a class of continuous-time uncertain systems. The uncertainties in the model are state-dependent and belong to a polytopic convex set, as can be found in many electronic circuits and some other applications. The global asymptotic stability conditions for such systems are first established by the classic common quadratic Lyapunov function approach. Robust control of stochastic systems against bounded disturbances with application to flight control

This paper investigates the problems of state observer design and observer-based integral sliding-mode control (SMC) for a class of Itô stochastic systems subject to simultaneous input and output disturbances. A new type of sliding-mode-based descriptor observer method is developed to approximate the system state and disturbance vectors. An integral-type SMC scheme is proposed based on the state estimation to stabilize the overall system. Stability analysis and H<inf>∞</inf> controller design of a class of switched discrete-time fuzzy systems

In this paper, the problems of stability analysis and H ∞ controller design of a class of switched nonlinear systems are investigated. In a classical way, the modeling of the systems is approached by switched fuzzy systems, and both fast switching and slow switching are considered there. In particular, for slow switching scheme, a new mode-dependent average dwell time switching is proposed for the underlying switched fuzzy systems. Based on a fuzzy-basis-dependent and mode-dependent Lyapunov function, the H ∞ state-feedback controller is derived. A numerical example is given to show the validity and potential of the theoretical results.

A sliding mode approach to robust stabilisation of Markovian jump linear time-delay systems with generally incomplete transition rates

Abstract This paper is devoted to investigating the problem of robust sliding mode control for a class of uncertain Markovian jump linear time-delay systems with generally uncertain transition rates (GUTRs). Stabilization of a class of slowly switched positive linear systems: State-feedback control

2012

The main goal of this paper is to investigate the stabilization problem for a class of switched positive linear systems (SPLS) with average dwell time (ADT) switching in continuous-time context. State-feedback controllers and the corresponding switching law with ADT property are designed, which stabilize the closed-loop systems while keeping the states nonnegative. The proposed conditions, formulated as linear matrix inequalities, can be directly used for controller synthesis and switching designing. Finally, a numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity of the obtained results.

Fault detection for discrete-time Markov jump linear systems with partially known transition probabilities

In this article, the fault detection (FD) problem for a class of discrete-time Markov jump linear system (MJLS) with partially known transition probabilities is investigated. The proposed systems are more general, which relax the traditional assumption in Markov jump systems that all the transition probabilities must be completely known. A residual generator is constructed and the corresponding FD is formulated as an H ∞ filtering problem by which the error between residual and fault are minimised in the H ∞ sense.
