AbstractThe current pandemic situation caused by the Betacoronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (SCoV2) highlights the need for coordinated research to combat COVID-19. A particularly important aspect is the development of medication. In addition to viral proteins, structured RNA elements represent a potent alternative as drug targets. Cognición social y habilidades de comunicación en adultos jóvenes con síndrome de Asperger

Abstract: The aim of this study is to compare patients with Asperger syndrome (AS) and control participants on social cognition tasks and communication skills. Twenty young adults were assessed in three social cognition domains; recognition of basic emotions, recognition of complex emotions and Theory of Mind (ToM). In addition participants completed a self-report questionnaire as a measure of social communication skills. The results indicate that adults with AS perform below neurotypical control participants in emotion processing, ToM and communication skills. Imbalance of immunological synapse-kinapse states reflects tumor escape to immunity in glioblastoma

Since the proper activation of T cells requires the physical interaction with target cells through the formation of immunological synapses (IS), an alteration at this level could be a reason why tumors escape the immune response. As part of their life cycle, it is thought that T cells alternate between a static phase, the IS, and a dynamic phase, the immunological kinapse (IK), depending on high or low antigen sensing. Objective: To explore the effect of continuous intra-amygdalar infusion of GABA in the amygdala kindling model of epilepsy in rat. Methods: An electrode and cannula complex was implanted in adult male Wistar rats, the electrode being targeted to the left basolateral amygdala. The animals were subjected to a standard kindling procedure. Osmotic minipumps filled with either GABA or mannitol were connected to cannulas and allowed to infuse during 7 days. Role of Deprotonation and Cu Adatom Migration in Determining the Reaction Pathways of Oxalic Acid Adsorption on Cu(111)

Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and first principles theoretical calculations have been used to gain insight into the fundamental processes involved in the adsorption and self-assembly of oxalic acid on Cu(111). The experimental data demonstrate that several reaction pathways are involved in the chemisorption of oxalic acid on Cu(111), one of which leads to deprotonation of the acid into oxalate molecules that form ordered structures on the surface. Theoretical calculations indicate that the adsorption of oxalate molecules is not stable on the surface unless copper adatoms are taken into consideration.
