Kinesthetic motor imagery training modulates frontal midline theta during imagination of a dart throw.
Motor imagery (MI) is a frequently used and effective method for motor learning in sports as well as in other domains. Electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies indicated that experts within a certain sport exhibit a more pronounced brain activity during MI as compared to novices. Similar to the execution, during MI the motor sequence has to be planned. Thus, the frontal attentional system, in part represented by the frontal midline theta (4-7Hz), is closely related to these processes and presumably plays a major role in MI as well. In this study, a MI dart training and its impact on frontal midline theta activity (fmt) during MI are examined. 53 …
Die Hemmung der Aufnahme vonα-Methylnoradrenalin in das Herz durch sympathomimetische Amine
Hearts of rabbits were isolated and perfused with Tyrode solution containing 10 ng/ml (−)-α-methyl noradrenaline. The uptake by the heart ofα-methyl-noradrenaline was calculated by estimating the amount of amine removed from the perfusion fluid while passing through the heart. In control experiments the mean removal ofα-methyl noradrenaline was 43,7 ± 1,6% of the amount infused. The rate of removal remained constant throughout the time period of the experiment, i.e. 20 min.
Die Wirkung von Ouabain auf die Elimination von Noradrenalin aus der Perfusionsflssigkeit des isolierten Kaninchenherzens
Isolated rabbit hearts were perfused with Tyrode solution containing 10 ng/ml (-)-noradrenaline for 20 min. The uptake by the heart of noradrenaline was calculated by estimating the percentage of amine removed from the perfusion fluid during a single passage through the heart. Previous experiments have shown that the amount of noradrenaline removed from the perfusion fluid corresponds well to the amount retained by the heart. In control experiments, the mean removal (elimination) of noradrenaline was 50±1.7% of the amount infused as measured biologically and 46±2.2% as measured fluorimetrically. Ouabain was added to the perfusion fluid at concentrations ranging from 2.74·10−7 to 2.0·10−6 mo…

Distribution of Met-enkephalyl-Arg-Gly-Leu in rat larynx: partial coexistence with vasoactive intestinal polypeptide, peptide histidine isoleucine and neuropeptide Y.
Abstract Using light microscopic (LM) enzyme-immunohistochemistry on deparaffinized adjacent sections Met-enkephalyl-Arg-Gly-Leu (ME-RGL) immunoreactivity was found to partially coexist with immunoreactive neuropeptide Y (NPY), vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) and peptide histidine isoleucine (PHI) in intrinsic laryngeal neurons of the rat. Further ME-RGL-immunoreactive (ir) fibres were found around glands in the subepithelium, in connective tissue of striated muscle and in the perichondrium, as well as around arterial and venous blood vessels. They frequently contacted mast cells and macrophages. The presence of ME-RGL indicates pro-enkephalin-related origin of this novel laryngeal …
