Wenn die Darstellung von mythischen Orten im Film analysiert wird, greift man ublicherweise auf visuelle Stereotypen und narrative Konstruktionen zuruck. Meine Idee, herauszufinden, ob Musik ahnlich verbindliche Zeichen schafft und welche Zeichen in Filmen uberhaupt fur die musikalische Codierung von Tanger und Casablanca gesetzt werden, ist eher aus einer Trotzreaktion auf diese Reduktion’ entstanden. Dies ist keine sonderlich dankbare Aufgabe, denn in der akustischen Suggestion handeln fast alle Kinematografien auf eine eigenartige Weise: Das japanische Kino z. B. benutzt seit den ersten Tonfilmen oft symphonische Musik westeuropaischer Pragung, um die Handlung zu vertonen.

From stage to brain: Montage as a new principle of scientific narrative

German Dadaists, Italian and Russian Futurists and Constructivists created in their experiments multi-medial orthopedic bodies as products of collage and montage. Sergei Eisenstein, who was influenced by these experiments, organized his theatrical productions as a chain of independent fragments capable of entering any possible combination/recombination and labelled this method “montage of attractions”.
