Oral paracoccidioidomycosis in a non-endemic region from Brazil: A short case series.

Background Although the paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM) is endemic in Brazil, the occurrence in most states from the North and Northeastern Brazil is very unusual. Quality of information about oral cancer in Brazilian Portuguese available on Google, Youtube, and Instagram

Background To evaluate the quality of oral cancer information in Brazilian Portuguese on Google, YouTube, and Instagram. Material and Methods The first 100 links of each platform characterized the initial sample. The websites and Instagram were evaluated using the JAMA benchmarks, the Discern instrument, and the Flesch readability index (Flesch Reading Ease). The existence of Health on the Net (HON) code was also registered on websites. The usefulness of each video on YouTube was classified as not useful, slightly useful, moderately useful, or very useful. What is the frequency of floor of the mouth lesions? A descritive study of 4,016 cases.

Background The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency of oral lesions in the floor of the mouth from representative oral pathology centres in Latin America. Material and Methods This study was conducted on biopsies obtained from January of 1978 to December of 2018 at nine Latin America oral and maxillofacial pathology centres. Gender, age and histopathological diagnosis were evaluated. Data were analysed using descriptive methods. Chi-square test was used for pairwise comparisons. Pigmented odontogenic keratocyst : report of a rare case and review of the literature

Pigmented odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) is very rare and its etiology remains uncertain. To the best of our knowledge, only 9 cases of pigmented OKC have been published in English-language literature. This report describes a pigmented OKC in a 14-year-old black male patient. Radiographically, the lesion appeared as a well-circumscribed, unilocular, and radiolucent image. A surgical excision was performed. Histopathological examination revealed an OKC. Additionally, a brownish, sparsed, intracytoplasmic pigmentation was observed in the basal cell layer, which was positive for Fontana-Masson staining. Intraoral lipomas: A clinicopathological study of 43 cases, including four cases of spindle cell/pleomorphic subtype

Background The aim of this study was to describe the clinicopathological characteristics of 43 intraoral lipomas and classify them according to their microscopic variants. Material and Methods All the cases of intraoral lipomas diagnosed at an Oral Pathology service were selected for the study. Clinical data, such as age, gender, location, time of evolution, clinical presentation, clinical hypothesis of diagnosis, and treatment, were collected from the clinical files.
