NF-κB is a potential pharmacological target in triple negative breast cancers.
Triple negative breast cancers (TNBCs), characterized by lack of estrogen, progesterone and HER2 receptors, are a highly heterogenous group of tumors which account for about 20% to 25% of all breast cancers. TNBCs are often associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition and a high propensity for early metastasis. Since no molecularly-targeted therapeutic agents are clinically available for TNBCs, these tumors, which are frequently resistant to cytotoxic chemotherapy, remain difficult to treat. Nevertheless, progress is being made in the finding of molecular alterations typical of TNBCs toward which to focus therapeutic efforts.

Abstract The reactivity of indole derivatives towards nitrilimines has been studied. Substituents at positions 1, 2 and 3 of the indole ring greatly affect the course of the reaction. 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition products (3a,8a,dihydropyrazole-[3,4-b]-indole derivatives) and non-cyclic addition products (3-indolyl derivatives) were obtained depending on these substituents. The structures reported were assigned on the basis of satisfactory analytical, spectroscopic and chemical data.
Effectiveness of screening for known mutations in Sicilian patients with "probable" familial hypercholesterolemia.
Background and Aim: More than 750 mutations in the low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor gene are currently known to cause familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), but the array of mutations varies considerably in different populations. The definition of essentially all the LDL receptor gene mutations in a population is therefore a prerequisite for the implementation of nation-wide genetic testing for FH. Designing fluorous domains. Synthesis of a series of pyridinium salts bearing a perfluoroalkylated azole moiety
The synthesis of a series of N-methylpyridinium salts bearing a perfluoroalkylated 1,2,4-oxadiazole or 1,2,4-triazole moiety is reported. X-Ray structures of representative perfluoroalkyl-triazolylpyridine (15) and methyl- pyridinium iodide salt (5a) are reported. Their crystal packing clearly shows segregation between the aromatic and parallel double layer fluorinated regions.
