Association between antithrombotic treatment and outcomes at 1-year follow-up in patients with atrial fibrillation: the EORP-AF General Long-Term Registry

Aims In recent years, stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) has radically changed, with increasing use of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs). Contemporary European data on AF thromboprophylaxis are needed. Methods and results We report 1-year follow-up data from the EURObservational Research Programme in Atrial Fibrillation (EORP-AF) General Long-Term Registry. Outcomes were assessed according to antithrombotic therapy. At 1-year follow-up, 9663 (88.0%) patients had available data for analysis: 586 (6.1%) were not treated with any antithrombotic; 681 (7.0%) with antiplatelets only; 4066 (42.1%) with vitamin K antagonist (VKA) only; 3167 (32.8%) with …

Long-term clinical outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention versus coronary artery bypass grafting for acute coronary syndrome from the DELTA registry: A multicentre registry evaluating percutaneous coronary intervention versus coronary artery bypass grafting for left main treatment

AIMS Our aim was to compare, in a large unprotected left main coronary artery (ULMCA) all-comer registry, the long-term clinical outcome after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with first-generation drug-eluting stents (DES) versus coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). METHODS AND RESULTS Of a total of 2,775 patients enrolled in the Drug Eluting Stents for Left Main Coronary Artery Disease (DELTA) multicentre registry, 379 (13.7%) patients with ACS treated with PCI (n=272) or CABG (n=107) were analysed. Baseline demographics were considerably different in the two groups before propensity matching. No significant differences emerged for…

058 THE ROLE OF FEMALE SEX IN THE CONTEMPORARY TREATMENT OF THE LEFT MAIN CORONARY ARTERY INSIGHTS FROM THE W-DELTA (WOMEN-DRUG ELUTING STENT FOR LEFT MAIN CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE) REGISTRY

Background The optimal revascularization strategy of women with unprotected left main coronary artery (ULMCA) disease is unknown. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate long-term clinical outcomes in this cohort treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) utilising drug-eluting stents (DES) versus coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Methods All consecutive women from the Drug Eluting stent for LefT main coronary Artery disease (DELTA) Registry with ULMCA disease treated by PCI with DES or CABG were analysed. A propensity matching was performed to adjust for baseline differences between the 2 treatment groups. Results In total, 818 women were included: 489 (59.8%) und…

O-45 The influence of training program on the functionality of respiratory system

For each individual must be appropriate life style modelling of the respiratory system functionality as well necessity for physical activity, training program, especially for amateur and professional athletes. The influence of variable factors gives implications to the amateur athletes’ body and respiratory system- health condition, supplements or necessary treatment, physical working capacity of the body, physical activity with increased function of respiratory system, cardiopulmonary interdependence, hydration, fitness level, physical abilities, training or competition period, training process and ambience. High level functionality of respiratory system decreases risk of potential interac…
