BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Hypertension is known to be highly prevalent among patients with diabetes and associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular damage. In contrast, relatively few investigations have addressed the prevalence of diabetes among patients with hypertension. The purpose of the present study was to examine the prevalence of type 2 diabetes, the effectiveness of hypertension and diabetes control and the association with other cardiovascular risk factors and previous cardiovascular diseases in a cohort of patients with hypertension referred to 30 hospital outpatient clinics for the treatment of hypertension. A survey on features of allergic rhinitis in children

Objective: A number of epidemiologic studies evaluated the prevalence of allergic rhinitis (AR), but few data are available on its different clinical presentations. We addressed this survey to assess the features of AR in children and adolescents. Methods: Thirty-five centers in Italy included 2623 pediatric patients with rhinitis, of whom 2319 suffered from AR, while 304 had other kinds of rhinitis.
