Abstract Introduction Gestational diabetes is the pathology that most frequently causes medical alterations in pregnancy. The objective of this study is to assess the relationship between the presence of alterations in the metabolism of carbohydrates during pregnancy and the risk of presenting adverse obstetric outcomes in the mother and the fetus. Patients and method An observational study was conducted in 799 women who had just given birth. Resumen Introduccion La diabetes gestacional es la enfermedad que con mayor frecuencia origina alteraciones medicas en el embarazo. El objetivo de este estudio es valorar la relacion entre la presencia de alteraciones en el metabolismo de los hidratos de carbono durante el embarazo y el riesgo de presentar resultados obstetricos adversos en la madre y el feto. Pacientes y metodo Se realizo un estudio observacional en 799 mujeres que acababan de dar a luz.
