Tutkimusraportti pohjautuu opetusministeriön vuonna 2001 julkaiseman Opettajankoulutuksen kehittämisohjelman valtakunnallisen seuranta- ja arviointihankeen opettajien täydennyskoulutusta koskevan osuuden tuloksiin. Raportti tarkastelee opettajien täydennyskoulutuksen tilaa peruskoulun ja lukion aineenopettajien sekä ammatillisten ja vapaan sivistystyön oppilaitosten opettajien näkökulmasta. Arviointihankkeen kyselyaineisto kerättiin valtakunnallisella otoksella vuonna 2005 (N = 2047), seuranta-aineistona oli Opetushallituksen toteuttaman täydennyskoulutustutkimuksen kyselyaineisto vuodelta 1998 (N = 2653). Internationalisation in Crafting Workshops : Experiences in an Action Research Project, 2018-2019

The ‘Crafting Workshops’ initiative merges internationalisation and craft education into an action research and development project. The activities in the workshops were grounded in the concepts of internationalisation at home and cultural well-being, and the action was intended to take advantage of peer learning in teacher education through actual craft making in multinational groups. Finnish student teachers acted as instructors in workshops where participants were international exchange students from several countries; the working language was English. Opetusministeriö julkaisi vuonna 2001 Opettajankoulutuksen kehittämisohjelman linjaamaan opettajien perus- ja täydennyskoulutusta. Kehittämisohjelma keskittyi opettajan työn lähtökohtiin, kehittämistavoitteisiin ja suosituksiin sekä opettajankoulutuksen määrällisiin tarpeisiin. his study examines a hybrid form of the Finnish Peer-Group Mentoring (PGM) merging student teachers and in-service teachers of different career stages in group meetings facilitated by an educated mentor. Experiences of the in-service participants were studied by interviewing them, and the data were analysed through thematic analysis. Four main themes were identified: 1) Enjoying group activities, 2) Personal professional development, 3) Attaching to the professional community and 4) Developing the teacher profession. Student teachers' experiences of participating in mixed peer mentoring groups of in-service and pre-service teachers in Finland

This article examines from the student perspective a new Finnish model of teacher development that uses the peer group mentoring (PGM) method for combining pre-service and in-service teacher education. Reflective reports of student teachers (N = 19) who participated in PGM were analyzed using the phenomenographic method. The results show that students' experiences varied from considering the activity as (1) a coffee break or (2) peer-support, to seeing it as (3) identity construction or (4) a way of participating in a professional community. Crafts education in Finland has recently been exposed to considerable challenges, on both the theoretical and practical levels. The emphasis is shifting to personal expression and communal arts and crafts practices are being adapted to solidify social and cultural participation. Integrative Pedagogy in Practicum

The chapter introduces a model of integrative pedagogy in teaching practicum within a Finnish context. The aim of this action research project is to integrate educational theory and practice in teaching practicum with a view to promote student teachers professional autonomy. In the Integrative Pedagogy Model, theoretical knowledge, practical skills and self-regulation (reflective and metacognitive skills) are merged. The empirical part of the chapter is based on the content analysis of the experiences of students and their supervising teachers. The results show that an exceptional sense of community is being achieved in this kind of teaching practicum.
Evaluation and Quality Assurance in Finnish and Italian Universities in the Bologna Process

Abstract The purpose of the study is to describe the evaluation and quality assurance practices employed in the basic units of Finnish and Italian universities and analyse the impact of the Bologna process on quality assessment. The data consist of interviews (n=30) conducted in Finland and Italy. Käsillä oleva julkaisu pohjautuu opetusministeriön vuonna 2001 julkaiseman Opettajankoulutuksen kehittämisohjelman valtakunnallisen seuranta- ja arviointihankeen opetushenkilöstön täydennyskoulutusta koskevan osuuden tuloksiin. Hankkeen tarkoituksena oli arvioida täydennyskoulutuksen tämän hetken tilaa ja kehittämisohjelmassa mainittujen suositusten toteutumista sekä tarkastella opettajien täydennyskoulutuksessa tapahtuneita muutoksia seurantajakson aikana. Perusopetusta koskeva osuus raportoidaan erillisenä julkaisuna.
