Abstract Background Biological aging estimators derived from DNA methylation data are heritable and correlate with morbidity and mortality. Consequently, identification of genetic and environmental contributors to the variation in these measures in populations has become a major goal in the field. Myopia is the most common human eye disorder and it results from complex genetic and environmental causes. The rapidly increasing prevalence of myopia poses a major public health challenge. Here, the CREAM consortium performs a joint meta-analysis to test single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) main effects and SNP × education interaction effects on refractive error in 40,036 adults from 25 studies of European ancestry and 10,315 adults from 9 studies of Asian ancestry. Form factors in the 'point form' of relativistic quantum mechanics : single and two-particle currents

Electromagnetic and Lorentz-scalar form factors are calculated for a bound system of two spin-less particles exchanging a zero-mass scalar particle. Different approaches are considered including solutions of a Bethe-Salpeter equation, a ``point form'' approach to relativistic quantum mechanics and a non-relativistic one. Minimal Model of Spin-Transfer Torque and Spin Pumping Caused by the Spin Hall Effect

In the normal metal/ferromagnetic insulator bilayer (such as Pt/Y$_{3}$Fe$_{5}$O$_{12}$) and the normal metal/ferromagnetic metal/oxide trilayer (such as Pt/Co/AlO$_{x}$) where spin injection and ejection are achieved by the spin Hall effect in the normal metal, we propose a minimal model based on quantum tunneling of spins to explain the spin-transfer torque and spin pumping caused by the spin Hall effect. Transformation synthesis of aluminosilicate SSZ-39 zeolite from ZSM-5 and beta zeolite

Aluminosilicate SSZ-39 zeolite has been successfully prepared by transformation from ZSM-5 and beta zeolite in the presence of N,N-diethyl-cis-2,6-dimethylpiperidinium hydroxide (DMPOH) under hydrothermal conditions. Catalytic tests in the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3 (NH3-SCR) show that the copper-exchanged products synthesized from the interzeolite transformation exhibit excellent catalytic performance.

A Cationic Oligomer as an Organic Template for Direct Synthesis of Aluminosilicate ITH Zeolite

There are a large number of zeolites, such as ITH, that cannot be prepared in the aluminosilicate form. Now, the successful synthesis of aluminosilicate ITH zeolite using a simple cationic oligomer as an organic template is presented. Key to the success is that the cationic oligomer has a strong complexation ability with aluminum species combined with a structural directing ability for the ITH structure similar to that of the conventional organic template.
