Due to their unique architecture and the exceptional dimensions of the largest monument in the group, the Arles-Fontvieille hypogea are among the most remarkable megalithic monuments in Europe and the western Mediterranean region. A collective research program was launched in 2013 to study these well-known monuments which have, paradoxically, been the subject of relatively few field studies since the 19th century. The beaker phenomenon and the Genomic transformations of Northwest Europe
Bell Beaker pottery spread across western and central Europe beginning around 2750 BCE before disappearing between 2200–1800 BCE. The mechanism of its expansion is a topic of long-standing debate, with support for both cultural diffusion and human migration. We present new genome-wide ancient DNA data from 170 Neolithic, Copper Age and Bronze Age Europeans, including 100 Beaker-associated individuals. La consommation de ces récipients non tournés à Massalia est très différente de celle des sites indigènes qui l’entourent. qui importe et consomme en les intégrant des objets d’une culture différente (urnes, jattes indigènes et ollae étrusques). Un lieu de culte monumental gaulois dans le Mercantour : le site de la Cime de la Tournerie (commune de Roubion, Alpes-Maritimes)
International audience; In the Southern Alps, the site of la Cime de La Tournerie, established on a mount peaking at an altitude of 1 816 m, is a monumental place of worship of the early second Iron Age. This site is caracterised by a network of concentric walls and ditches surronding a 500 m2 platform marked out by a monumental wall. Excavations conducted from 2014 to 2017 uncovered weapons, jewelry, remains of banquet, human bones, elements of monumental masonry and a Massaliot monetary storage of the third century BC.
