El presente texto analiza la función de la producción de imágenes (fotográficas, pictóricas, cinematográficas, arquitectónicas) en la mitología franquista que se refiere a la guerra civil. El Alcázar de Toledo fue un escenario emblemático de la guerra, un lugar de memoria por su resistencia, pero también un edificio aureolado de historia. A través del estudio del tratamiento arquitectónico que se dio al edificio (mantenimiento de las ruinas, restauración...), así como de su vida ceremonial, es posible analizar la visión épica que alimentó la memoria franquista y la relación entre el pasado imaginado y el presente.This paper analyzes the role of the images in the Francoist mythology concerning the Spanish Civil War, such as photography, painting, cinematography, architecture... Toledo’s Alcazar was an emblematic stage for the war, a site of memory due to the resistance during the siege. Nevertheless, it has been a monument coloured by history. This article discusses the architectural projects made on the fortress (the maintenance of the states of ruins, restoration...), as well as the ceremonies nationalists authorities organised in it. The consideration of these factors reveal the epic vision that fed Francoist memory and the relationship between imagined past and present.
