Abstract In Spain, as of the 1980s, new defiant poetic voices appeared and reiterated the question of political compromise in literature. Often named poets of the " critical conscience " , these authors organized themselves in communities. Working as backfires necessary to the struggle against weak forms of fascism, their aim is to gain again the common desire for emancipation. This article initiates a study of Jorge Riechmann´s work and will enable to shed light on some essential features of his writing style, namely dissidence and transgression.
