Since its origins, the idea about the NEET collective (a diverse group composed mostly of young people who neither study nor work) has been linked to school failure, unemployment and occupational vulnerability. However, in the last decade it has attracted considerable attention by educational and occupational policies. These policies, guided by the logic of activation, have been introducing entrepreneurship-based programmes addressed to NEETs, orienting their career paths towards self-employment and business creation. This chapter explores the complex binomial between NEETs and entrepreneurship and studies its feasibility through an analysis of the programmes that have been initiated by international institutions, such as the OECD or the EU, and the lines of action that could guarantee better future perspectives in this field.
