Nel quadro del Programma Italie Tunisie, l’esperienza del Progetto APER viene introdotta con riferimento ai diversi livelli e alle opportunità della cooperazione: tra realtà transfrontaliere, tra istituzioni dello stesso Paese e tra studiosi di diverse discipline. Passando ai contenuti scientifici, dopo aver illustrato il campo di applicazione e le potenziali ricadute, si pone l’accento sul tema dell’integrazione tra salvaguardia e valorizzazione, come sintesi teorica e operativa degli obiettivi del Progetto APER. Seguendo l’evoluzione dell’approccio al patrimonio architettonico, dall’origine dello stesso concetto allo sviluppo degli obiettivi della conservazione prima e della valorizzazione poi, si cercano le ragioni che hanno portato a considerare su piani separati tali obiettivi e si illustrano le conseguenze di tale separazione. Infine viene affrontato il nodo della documentazione, quale questione primaria la cui soluzione è decisiva per affrontare le criticità della conservazione e valorizzazione con l’opportuno approccio unitario e responsabile, fondato sull’integrazione tra sfera degli esperti e sfera dei fruitori. The experience gained during the APER Project is introduced with a description of its various different levels and the opportunities for cooperation it created among cross-border organisations, among institutions from the same Country and among researchers from different fields. As far as the scientific content is concerned, the text begins by illustrating the field of application and the potential repercussions and then moves on to stress the issue of integrating conservation and enhancement-promotion, a theoretical and operational synthesis of the APER Project’s aims. Having gone over how the approach to architectural heritage has evolved from the origins of this concept to the initial development of conservation aims and, later, the development of enhancement-promotion objectives, the text explores the reasons why such aims came to be considered on separate levels and the consequences of such a separation. The text ends by discussing the question of documentation as a fundamental issue that must be tackled if we want to solve the problems posed by conservation and enhancement-promotion with a suitably unified and responsible approach, founded on the integration of experts’ and users’ interests.
